Reporting to the Interim Head of Donor Marketing, the role of the Fundraising Officer is to coordinate and overseeing multiple acquisition campaigns such as Regular Giving, Telemarketing, Donor development, Community and Retail. Working with various marketing agencies and consultants they will also assist in the stewardship and development of our warm programmes such mailings, Sponsor a Dog, Legacy and Canine Care Card. Key Job responsibilities Approx. percentage of time* Donor Recruitment Programmes: Direct Marketing warm and acquisition: Co-ordinate the development, production, and delivery of direct mail campaigns in conjunction with marketing agency, working to tight deadlines and strict budgets, this includes but is not limited to warm and cold appeals, Legacy and Canine Care Card and input into Supporter Newsletter. Ensure direct mail campaigns are also maximised for online use where possible. Stewardship and administration of warm programmes such as legacy fundraising, In Mem Giving and Canine Care Card. Recruitment of new DM donors through various acquisition channels including the research and development of new ideas and strategies for the fundraising department. Creation of donor journeys for all touch points within the organisation ensuring donors have the best possible experience with the charity. Preparation of annual Tax Efficient Giving campaign including the production of direct mail pack to qualifying donors. 40%

Donor Recruitment Programmes: Direct Marketing warm and acquisition:

• Regular reporting on these campaigns noting successes and opportunities for improvement.

• Experience in copywriting and proof-reading is desirable, as well as good commu-nication skills.

• Analyse performance of donor segments against targets for response, donation amount and life-time-value etc.

Sponsor A Dog:

• Provide campaign support for Sponsor a Dog, which would focus on producing promotional materials, project management support, identifying new and innovative marketing opportunities to help increase acquisition, brand awareness, participation, and fundraising income in a competitive market.

Telemarketing:

• Delivery of ongoing tele campaigns throughout the year including digital lead conversion and acquisition, upgrades, reactivations, donor care calls etc.

Retail

• Work with IHODM and Interim Senior FR Officer to identify areas for improvement on our online shop providing a better experience for customers. Identifying top sellers and new stock opportunities.

Data:

• Liaising with the Data Analyst on data requirements and segmentation for campaigns and checking of data outputs.

• Regular reporting to the IHODM and wider FR team with updates on activity and campaign results with a focus on year-on-year growth, results from data testing, weekly work plans, and annual targets.

Donor Care:

• Offer the highest standards in donor care, responding to queries and complaints in a timely manner. Updating donor records on the donor database as required, paying close attention to consent preferences and GDPR legislation.

• Continuously seek to improve, better and streamline the relationship between the supporter and Dogs Trust.

• Work collaboratively with the wider fundraising team to ensure maximisation of giving potential and full integration of all our campaigns both on and offline.

• Liaise with PR & Communications and Operations teams on campaigns to ensure

that our branding and messaging are consistent and within guidelines and that

where necessary, all campaigns are integrated across various channels. Liaise with

Policy, Compliance and Research Manager for guidance on all research projects

and to ensure GDPR compliance.

• Cover for Fundraising Admin roles in times of annual leave or sickness.

• Assist the IHODM with the with training of new staff for the department as and when needed.

• Awareness of budgets and costs for projects, ensuring the 3-quote rule is adhered to and costs approved by GHOFD or IHODM.

• Also responsible for the regular handling of donations within the organisation. Cash handling policies and procedures to be adhered to and sensitivity around data needed.

• Guidance and advice to Fundraising Administrators and junior staff if needed.

• Supervision of volunteers if required.

Educational qualification, skills, experience and behaviours

Certificate/Diploma in Fundraising preferable but not essential X X
