AGES 8-12 (younger with adaptations) LEVELS Beginner+ TYPE individual pair or groupLESSON 45-60 minutes over several lessons task-based or long term project work

This worksheet set will require careful lesson planning It can be adapted to many uses

Supporting materials could include old comic books short clips or trailers from appropriate movies

superhero posters other promotional items and links to web pages

You will have to explain that there are two systems for building up the studentrsquos superhero OR

for younger students you can just select ldquoThe Choice Systemrdquo (Page 2)

Group or pair work is suggested because language production will occur in the discussion about

which superpowers or elements are better You may need to go over the list of the items in the

tables on Page 3 with your students as part of the preparation work

Print only the sheets that you need can be printed for each student Pages 2 and 3

only require one copy per grouppair (allows for more sharing and discussion) You can also

determine how many copies you will need of the templates on Pages 4 5 6 by surveying your

students

NOTE You can also use printed photos of each studentrsquos head that the students cut out and glue into the template
