Recycle, Upcycle, Repurpose ContestNovember 12-14Morton MuseumCollierville Reads, in conjunction with its community-wide reading project of the book Spare Parts by Joshua Davis, is hosting a Recycle, Upcycle, Repurpose contest with the Collierville Environmental Com-mission. Entries include robots from spare parts, art from recycled or found materials, and upcycled prod-ucts from trash to treasure. Contest entries will be on display at the Mu-seum and representatives from Col-lierville Reads 2015 and the CEC will award the winners. Call 854-0288 for further details.

Baseball! Celebrating a Community PastimeJuly 15-September 12The game of baseball has been an integral part of the Collierville com-munity since the 1870s. This exhibit explores the early Collierville teams, as well as the development of youth recreation and competitive baseball in the 1950s.

Becoming the Volunteer State: Tennessee in the War of 1812September 15-October 27(Opening reception: Saturday, September 26, 10am-4pm)This state-wide, traveling exhibit coin-cides with the bicentennial of the War of 1812. The exhibit focuses on the tre-mendous legacy of the war, including Tennessee’s role and its impact on the state, as well as the nation.

Fire Prevention Week - Fire Safety Poster ContestOctober 3-30(Opening reception: Saturday,October 3, 10am-12pm)Each year, working with the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s office, the Collier-ville Fire Department coordinates a Fire Safety Poster Contest in recogni-tion of National Fire Prevention week. Collierville elementary, middle and high schools participate in the poster contest. Each school selects a winner from grade levels K-12 which will be on display at the Museum.
