Youth Event Series – Holiday ProgramBased out of Anchors Youth Centre, the City’s seasonal Youth Event Series runs each school holidays. The Youth Services team offers fun recreational and educational activities for young people 11 to 18 years living within the City. Activities include Adventure World, aerial and water parks, skating rinks, movies, sports, arts activities, gaming, interactive workshops and much more.

Edge Youth CentreEdge Youth Centre at Currambine Community Centre offers young people 12 to 20 years an opportunity to get involved in creative programs utilising the custom-built youth music studio and the other facilities within the youth centre. Programs include Music Edge, a studio for young people 15 to 20 years and Freestyle Edge, a dance program for young people 12 to 18 years.

Music Edge: Mondays 3.30pm – 7.30pm

Freestyle Edge: Tuesdays 4.00pm – 6.00pm (during school term only)

Anchors Youth CentreBased at Heathridge Community Centre, Anchors Youth Centre offers a wide range of programs and activities for young people 11 to 18 years. The centre offers game tables including pool and ping pong, gaming consoles, sports, arts activities, projects, referral and support.

Mid-week Drop In: Wednesdays 4.00pm – 6.00pm (during school term only)

Friday Night Drop In: Fridays 5.00pm – 9.00pm

OUR SERVICES

Youth Outreach The Youth Outreach team is a completely mobile youth service which work with young people aged 11 to 25 years in public spaces, like shopping centres, skate parks and train stations. The Youth Outreach workers offer a constant point of contact and can provide support, mentoring, advocacy and referral to specialist services. The purpose built youth trailer can bring activities to you. If you have something they can help you with get in touch on 9400 4218 or 9400 4043.

Youth TruckThe Youth Truck is a purpose built mobile youth centre for young people aged 11 to 18 years. The fully accessible truck features a wheelchair hoist, fully functioning kitchen, game consoles, BBQ, art equipment and more. The Youth Truck visits different locations across the City as well as visiting schools and other community and youth events. For further information cal 9400 4905.

Our services continued

Summer SessionsSummer Sessions is a series of four free small scale youth events including music, sport, art and amusement activities held at public parks within the City. These events occur in January for young people aged 11 to 18 years.

Skate Park FestivalsThe City’s Youth Services team hold a variety of programs around the sports of BMX, skate and scooter. These include four competitions a year held at Carine, Mirror Park and Kinross skate parks and Shepherds Bush Pump and Jump Trail. As part of the competitions there are activities for the whole family including amusements, art, workshops and sausage sizzle.

Defeat the BeatHeld each April as part of WA Youth Week, Defeat the Beat is a music competition for young people 12 to 18 years who live or study within the City. The competition caters to all musical styles including bands, soloist, duos, DJ’s and MC’s and each year great prizes are up for grabs.

Autumn Youth Event Series 2019Keep an eye out for the Autumn Youth Event Series for 11 to 18 year olds this upcoming April school holidays. Search and like the ‘City of Joondalup Youth Services’ on Facebook to keep up to date with the latest programs, services and events.

Youth Week WA 2019Youth Week WA 2019 will run from Saturday 13 April – Saturday 20 April and it is the single largest celebration of young people on the Western Australian youth calendar.

Joondalup Festival 2019The Joondalup Festival is the spectacular finale to the City of Joondalup’s summer events season, a three-day feast of arts and cultural happenings. Celebrating twenty years in 2018, it is the northern corridor’s largest and most significant community event. Joondalup Festival will run from Friday 5 – Sunday 7 April 2019.
