In this small exhibition we show some of the things the Town Council has done, is doing, and will do in the future, to help build a better home for you in Yuhua

Renewing Our HomesHome Improvement Programme (HIP)

• HIP addresses common maintenance problems, like the repair of spalling concrete, replacement of waste pipes, upgrading of toilets/bathrooms, replacement entrance door and refuse chute hoppers etc. Highly subsidized by the government

• 24 % of the eligible flats (2,013 units) are currently undergoing HIP at the various stages

• HIP approved in FY 2015– Blocks 241-251 Jurong East St 21– Blocks 101-116 Jurong East St 13

Renewing Our HomesEnhancement for Active Seniors (EASE)

EASE has been offered to HDB flats in all towns since 2013. This will benefit the elderly who may wish to get the improvements earlier before the HIP, or whose blocks did not qualify for HIP.

• Since 2011, Jurong Town Council has spent $2.5m on various Town Improvement projects to improve the overall living environment

• We have build – Covered linkways– Drop-off points– Sheltered ramps– Block signs & Noticeboards– New design letterboxes– Recreational and exercise facilities such as

hard courts, jogging tracks, playgrounds, multi-generation fitness corners, games courts & Futsal court

– Community gardens – Residents’ corners

• Over the next 5 years , another $ 2.5 m to be spent to provide more improvement works

An innovative Sensory Park will be built at the existing Neighbourhood Park near Blks257-263 Jurong East St 24. The sensory park will have a variety of texture which residents could see, feel, touch and smell so as to bring more fun to the residents’ outdoor activities.

Taking care of what we have …• Since 2011, Jurong Town Council has spent

Taking care of what we have …

Rescreeding of void deck & apron

LED• We are the 1st Town Council to adopt this

innovation for lighting up our common areas. The Town Council has saved about $1.13 m per year since the installation of LED lightings in HDB estates since 2010.

Test bedding new ways to do work …

Solar Leasing Project• HDB has installed solar panels at Blocks 246,

247, 248 and 251 Jurong East St 24 in 2011 as a test bed project to harness solar energy

• The precinct was awarded the BCA Green Mark Gold Plus Award in 2011

• Going forward, another 41 blocks of HDB flats will be installed with solar panels by 1st Qtr2016.

Launched in 2012, 38 blocks of flats at Blocks 209-240 Jurong East St 21 will be transformed into an eco-friendly neighbourhood by end of 2015.

The project costs $23 m. 1st matured estate to embrace eco-friendly features such as the Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System, solar panels, outdoor

LED street lightings, elevator energy regenerative system, water & electrical sub-meters, rain water harvesting system, green roof, vertical greenery, community garden, dual bicycle racks and community parklets.


Jurong Lake District will become a mini version of a "smart city"

Above-ground boxes connected to fiber-optic lines will be deployed across at street lights or bus stops.

These new boxes can be hooked up to sensors to detect air pollutants, heavy rainfall, traffic jams, Township management etc

Some 9,000 residents living in Jurong East (3,194 flats) will be the first to experience “Smart living”

Residents can also look forward to a more liveable, efficient, sustainable and safe environment.

Car Park Improvement Work• HDB has upgraded 85% the surface

carparks in Yuhua• HDB has constructed additional car and

motorcycle lots at Blk 101, 222/226, 246/248 & 263

• HDB will be building a temporary car park next to Block 254, a very popular market and food centre to meet the increased demand for parking lots

Making it easier to move around …

Electronic Parking System Implementation• As of August 2015, EPS has been

implemented in 13 car park • 9 carparks in progress (4Q 2015-1 Q2016)

• Another 57 trains to the NS and EW lines

• Opening of Downtown Line Stage 2 in Dec 2015

• Jurong Region Line and Cross Island Line in future by 2025

New Public Housing• HDB will be building 2

residential blocks ( 225 dwelling units) at the open space infront of Blk 236 Jurong East St 21

• It is served with a 6-storey MSCP and well connected covered linkway, and facilities such as precinct pavilion, playgrounds and roof garden at MSCP

• The project will start in 2Q 2015 and complete by 2Q 2019

Jurong Lake District• In the next 10-15 years, the

Jurong Lake District is poised to be the next destination for leisure and business

• From public parks to water front hotels, the district brims with new and comprehensive developments

• It will also be the terminus for the Singapore/Kuala Lumpur High-speed rail to facilitate seamless travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, and bring the people of Malaysia and Singapore closer together

New Development In Jurong Gateway• In 2008, the URA unveiled the

blue print to transform Jurong into the biggest regional centre outside of the Central Business District

• When fully completed, the District will have more than 500,000 sqm of office space and 250,000 sqm of retail space, 1,000 more homes and at least 2,800 hotel rooms.
