ـَِن الرَِّحيمِ ِبْسِم اّللِه الرَّحْ

• Word of Allah, a Hadith Qudsi,

• Reported from Imam Baqir (a.s.) & Imam Sadiq (a.s.)

• Unlike other ziyaraat that have been reported from the Masumeen (a.s.) Ziyarat Ashura is reported from the Apostle of Allah (s.a.) to whom it was revealed from the Almighty Allah through the trusted Jibraeel (a.s.).

• Imam Sadiq (a.s.) has said, ‘Masumeen have

guaranteed, for someone who recites this ziyarat

and the dua after it, acceptance of his ziyarat

and granting of his hajaat. He will be among

those who will be blessed with the Paradise. With

the right to intercede for others.’

• It has been a practice of the pious

• Is recommended to be recited everyday

• Reward is in abundance and beyond description

• For best results awareness of the Ziyarat is required and one must be inline with it.

ِِللِ اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك ايَ َااب َعْْ

Salaam be upon you!

O’ Aba Abdillah!

ُسوِل للِ اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك اَي ْبَن رَ

Salaam be on you!

O’ son of the Apostle of Allah!

السَّالُم َعَليَك هِ اي ِخََيََة لِل واْبَن ِخـََيَتِ

Salaam be upon you!

The chosen of Allah

and the son of the His chosen!

اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك ِِ اْلَوصِ اَي ْبَن َامَِي اْلُمْؤِمننَي َوا يهنيَ ْبَن َسيِه

Salaam be on you!

O’ son of the commander of the faithful,

and the chief of the successors!

اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك ِة ِنس َِ اِء اْلعاَلمنيَ اَي ْبَن فاِطَمَة َسيِه

Salaam be on you!

O’ son of Fatima,

the chief of the women of the worlds!

اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك ِوتْـَر اْلَمْوُتورَ اي اثَر لِل َواْبَن اثرِِه َوالْ

Salaam be upon you!

O’ whose blood claimer is Allah; and the

son of such blood and the only left alone!

اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك ْت ِبِفناِئكَ َوَعَلى ااَلْرواِح الَّيت َحلَّ

Salaam be on you,

and on the souls

that clustered in your presence!

لِل َعَلْيُكْم ِمّنه ََجيعاً َسالمُ

On you be, from me

the salaam of Allah!

ًا َما بَِقيُت َوبَِقَى ال لَّْيُل َوالنَّهارُ اَبَِ

For so long as I live,

and for as long as the night and day endure!

ِْ عَ لِل َلَق ِِ ُظَمِت الرَّزِيَُّة ايَ َااَب َعْْ

O’ Aba Abdullah!

Verily, great was your mourning;

ِبَك َعَلْينا َْةُ َوَجلَّْت َوَعُظَمِت اْلُمِصي

and terrible was the calamity upon us,

يِع َاْهلِ مِ ااِلْسالَوَعَلى َجَِ

and on the adherants of Islam!

ِِ ُُتَك ِِ السََّماوَ َوَجلَّْت َوَعُظَمْت ُمِصيَْـ ا

And great was your mourning

and terrible was the calamity in the skies!

ِِ َعَلى ََجيِع َاْهِل السَّماَوا

On all the inhabitants of the skies!

َلَعَن للُ اُمًَّة َاسََّستْ ََ الظلْلِم فـَ َاَساَْـْيتِ َواْْلَْوِر َعَلْيُكْم َاْهَل الْ

Therefore, may Allah banish from His mercy the nation that laid the basis of tyranny and

oppression upon you, the AhlulBayt!

َعُتْ ُكْم َعْن َمَقاِمُكْم َوَلَعَن للُ اُمًَّة َدفـَ

And may Allah banish from His mercy the

nation that set you aside from your status

َوَازالَُْتُكْم َعْن َمراتُِِْكمُ َُْكُم للُ ِفيهَ االَّيت رَتَـّ

And deprived you of your rank

which Allah bestowed upon you

ُتَـَلُتْ ُكمْ َوَلَعَن للُ اُمًَّة قـَ

And May Allah banish from His mercy

the nation that killed you!

ْم َوَلَعَن للُ اْلُمَمهِهِيَن لَُ اِبلَُّتْمكنِي ِمْن ِقُتاِلُكمْ

And may Allah banish from His mercy

those who made preparation to kill you!

ُهْم َبرِْئُت ِاََل لِل َوِالَْيكُ ْم ِمنـْْم َوَاْولِياِئِهمَوِمْن َاْشياِعِهْم َواَْتْاِعهِ

I seek Allah and You and declare my

discord with them, their followers, their

associates and friends

ِِلِل اي َااب َعْْساَلَمُكْم ِاّنه ِسْلٌم ِلَمنْ

O’ Aba Abdillah!

Indeed I am in peace with him,

who is in peace with you!

َوَحْرٌب ِلَمْن حارََبُكْم ِاَل يـَْوِم اْلِقياَمةِ

And in war with him

who is in war with you

until the Day of Reckoning

ََ َوَلَعَن للُ آَل ِزايٍد َوآَل مَ ْروا

And may Allah banish from His mercy

the dynasty of Ziyad

and the dynasty of Marwaan

اِطَْةً َوَلَعَن للُ َبّن اَُميََّة ق

And may Allah banish from His mercy,

Bani Umayya them all !!

َوَلَعَن للُ اْبَن َمْرجانَةَ َِوَلَعَن للُ ُعَمَر ْبَن َسعْ

And may Allah banish from His mercy the son

of Marjana. And may Allah banish from His

mercy Umar, the son of Sa’d!

َوَلَعَن للُ ِِشْراً

And may Allah banish from His mercy, Shimr!

َوَلَعَن للُ اُمًَّة َاْسَرَجتْ

And may Allah banish from His mercy the

nation that bridled the horses!

ِقُتاِلكَ َوَاْْلََمْت َوتـَنَـقََّْْت لِ

Saddled them and set off to fight you

ابَِيب اَْنَت َواُمهي ِْ َعظَُم ُمَصايب ِبكَ َلَق

May my parents be your ransom.

Verily, great was my mourning on you

فََاْسَأُل لَل الَِّذي اَْكَرَم َمَقاَمَك

Therefore, I ask Allah,

who has honoured your rank!!

َْ يـَْرزَُقّن طَلَ ََ َواَْكَرَمّن َا َب اثِر

And honoured me, that he

blesses me to avenge for your blood,

َمَع ِاماٍم َمْنُصورٍ

With the victorious Imam,

ٍِ ِمْن َاْهِل بـَْيِت ُُمَمََّصلَّى للُ َعَلْيِه َوآِلهِ

From the household of Muhammad,

salutations of Allah

be on him and his household!

ََ َِ اَللهـُهمَّ اْجَعْلّن ِعْن السَّالمُ َوجيهاً اِبْْلَُسنْيِ َعَلْيهِ

O’ Allah! Make me respected before You,

by Huseyn, on him be salaam

نْيا َوااْلِخَرةِ ِل ِِ ال

In the world and the Hereafter!

ِِلِل اي َااب َعِْْاََل َرُسوِلهِ ِاّنه اَتـََقرَُّب ِاََل لِل وَ

O’ Aba Abdillah!

I seek nearness to Allah and to His Apostle!

َوِاَل َامَِي اْلُمْؤِمننَي َوِاَل فاِطَمَة َوِاََل اْلََْسنِ

And to Amirul Momineen

and to Fatima and to Hasan!

ََباَءةِ َوِالَْيَك ِبُواالِتَك َواِبلْ

And to you by your friendship

and by declaring immunity,

اْْلَْربَ ِمَّْن قاتـََلَك َوَنَصَب َلكَ

With those who fought you

and began war on you!!

َواِبْلََباَءِة ِمَّْن َاَسسَّ ََ الظلْلِم َواْْلَْوِر َعلَ ْيُكمْ َاسا

And with discord with those

who laid the basis of tyranny and

oppression on you

َرُأ ِاََل لِل َوِاَل َرسُ وِلهِ َواَبـْ

And I declare my discord from them,

to Allah and to His Apostle I associate.

ََ ذِلَك وَ يانَهُ َبىن َعَلْيِه بـُنْ ِمَّْن َاَسسَّ َاسا

From those who laid the basis of that,

and built on it, its structure

َوَجرى ِِ ظُْلِمِه َوَجْورِهِ َعَلْيُكْم َوعلى َاْشياِعُكمْ

And continued their tyranny and

oppression on you and your followers

ُهْم َبرِْئُت ِاََل لِل َوِالَْيكُ ْم ِمنـْ

I declare my discord from them

to Allah and to you I associate

ِالَْيُكمْ َواَتـََقرَُّب ِاََل لِل ثَّ

And I seek nearness to Allah

and then to you,

ُكْم ِبُواالِتُكْم َوُمَواالِة َولِيهِ

by your friendship

and friendship of your friends,

َواِبْلََباَءِة ِمْن َاْعِاِئُكمْ

and with disgust from your enemies;

َب َوالنَّاِصِْنَي َلُكُم اْْلَرْ

and those who started war against you!

ْم َواَْتْاِعِهمْ َواِبْلََباَءِة ِمْن َاْشياِعهِ

And with disassociation from their

followers and their associates

ِاّنه ِسْلٌم ِلَمْن ساَلَمُكْم

Certainly, I am in peace with him

who is in peace with you,

َوَحْرٌب ِلَمْن حارََبُكمْ

and in war with him

who is in war with you!

َوَوَِلٌّ ِلَمْن َواالُكْم

And a friend of him who loves you

ُِوٌّ ِلَمْن عاَداُكمْ َوَع

And an enemy of him who is your enemy

فََاْسَأُل لَل الَِّذي أْكَرَمّن ِبَْعرِفَُِتُكْم

I therefore ask Allah,

who has honoured me with your awareness,

َوَمْعرَِفِة َاْولِياِئُكمْ

and the awareness of your friends;

ِاِئُكمْ َوَرَزَقىِن اْلََباَءَة ِمْن َاعْ

and has blessed me

with the disgust of your enemies;

َْ ََيَْعَلّن َمَعُكْم َانْيا َوااْلِخَرةِ ِل ِِ ال

that he enlists me with you

in the world and in the hereafter!

َِكُ ِْهَت يِل ِعْن َْ يـُثـَ ْم َوَا

And that

He keeps me steadfast with you;

َيا وَ نـْ ِل ٍق ِِ ال ِْ َم ِص َِ اآلِخَرةِ َق

A firm footing

in the world and in the Hereafter!

َْ يـَُْـلِهَغىِن َوَاْسأَلُُه َاَِ للِ اْلَمقاَم اْلَمْحُموَد َلُكْم ِعنْ

And I ask Him that He makes me reach

your praised rank before Allah!

َْ يـَْرزَُقّن طََلَب اَثرِ يَوَا

And that He blesses me

to avenge for your blood,

َمَع ِامام ُهًِى ظاِهٍر انِطٍق اِبْْلَقِه ِمْنُكمْ

with an Imam, a guidance

evident, eloquent with the right from you!

َوَاْسأُل لَل ِبَقِهُكْم َِ الَّذي َلُكْم ِعنْ هُ َواِبلشَّأ َِ

And I ask Allah by your right

and by your status before Him,

َْ يـُْعِطَيّن ِبُصايب ِبكُ ْم َا

that He gives me

for my mourning for you;

َاْفَضَل ما يـُْعَطي ُمصاابً ِبُصيَُِْتهِ

the best that an afflicted

is rewarded for his affliction

ُمصيًَْة ما َاْعَظَمها ْسالمِ َوَاْعَظَم َرزِيَـَُّتها ِِ االِ

Truly, what an immense grief

And what great agony it was in Islam,

ِِ َواالْ ِْ َوِِ ََجيِع السََّماَوا ْر

and in all the skies and the earth!!

هذااَللهـُهمَّ اْجَعْلّن ِِ َمقامي

O’ Allah!

Make for me in this, a place of mine

ِمَّْن تَنالُُه ِمْنَك ٌِ َوَرْحٌَة َوَمْغِفرَ ةٌ َصَلوا

among those to whom reaches from You

salutations, mercy and forgiveness!!

اَللهـُهمَّ اْجَعْل َُمَْياَى ٍِ ٍِ َوآِل ُُمَمَّ َُمَْيا ُُمَمَّ

O’ Allah! Make my life the life of

Muhammad, and the progeny of Muhammad;

ٍِ َوآلِ َِ ُُمَمَّ ٍِ َوَِمَايت َِمَا ُُمَمَّ

and my death, the dying of Muhammad

and the progeny of Muhammad!

ََّ َهَذا يـَْوٌم اَللهـُهمَّ ِاَة َتََبََّكْت ِبِه بـَُنو اَُميَّ

O’ Allah! Certainly this is the day,

that was congratulating to Bani Umayya;

َواْبُن آِكَلِة االَْكَْادِ

and the son of

the woman, the liver eater!

اَْللَِّعنُي اْبُن اللَّعنيِ

The accursed son of the accursed!!

َِ نَِْيهِ َك َعلى ِلساِنَك َوِلساَصلَّى للُ َعَلْيِه َوآِلهِ

By You and by Your Apostle,

Salutations be upon him and his progeny;

ِِ ُكلِه َمْوِطٍن َوَمْوِقفٍ

In every place and stop,

َوَقَف ِفيِه نَِْيلَك َصلَّى للُ َعَلْيِه َوآِلهِ

that Your Apostle stopped therein;

salutations be upon him and his progeny!

ََ َوُمعاِويََة اَللهـُهمَّ اْلَعْن َااب ُسْفياَِ اْبَن ُمعاِويَةَ َوَيزي

O’ Allah! Banish from Your mercy, Aba Sufyaan,

Muawiyya and Yazid, son of Muawiyya!

ينَ َعَلْيِهْم ِمْنَك اللَّْعَنُة اَ َِ ااْلبِِ َب

On them be from You,

an everlasting banishment from Your mercy!

َوهذا يـَْوٌم َفرَِحْت ِبِه ََ آُل ِزايد َوآُل َمْروا

This is the day, when the dynasty of Ziyad

and the dynasty of Marwaan were joyful,

ِبَقُْتِلِهُم اْْلَُسنْيَ ُِ لِل َعَلْيهِ َصَلوا

by their killing of Hussein!

Salutations be upon him!

اَللهـُهمَّ َفضاِعْف (االَليمَ )ْلَعذاَب َعَلْيِهُم اللَّْعَن ِمْنَك َوا

O’ Allah! Multiply Your curse on them

and the (painful) chastisement!

لَْيَك اَللهـُهمَّ ِاّنه اَتـََقرَُّب اِ في َهَذاِِ هَذا اْليَـْوِم َوِِ َمْوقِ

O’ Allah! Indeed! I seek nearness to You

on this day and in this standing of mine;

ِم َحَيايِت اِبْلََباَءةِ ُهْم َوَاايه ِمنـَْواللَّْعَنِة َعَلْيِهمْ

and the days of my life with by

disassociating from them and by being

banished from /your mercy.

نَِْيِهَك َواِبْلُمواالِة لَِنِْيِهَك َوآلِ مُ َعَلْيِه َوَعَلْيِهُم اَلسَّال

and with the love of Your Messenger,

and the progeny of Your Messenger,

on them be Your Salaam!

Then say 100 times

ظََلَم اَللهـُهمَّ اْلَعْن َاوََّل ظالٍِ ٍِ َوآِل ُُمَمَِّ َحقَّ ُُمَمَّ

O’ Allah! Banish from Your mercy the first

tyrant who oppressed the right of

Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad,

كَ َوآِخَر اتَِبٍع َلُه َعَلى ذلِ

and the last of the followers

on this oppression!

لَّيت اَللهـُهمَّ اْلَعِن اْلِعصابََة اِِ اْْلَُسنْيَ َِ (المالسعليه)جاَه

O’ Allah! Banish from Your mercy the band

that fought Hussein (on him be salaam),

ُْتِلهِ َوشايـََعْت َوابيـََعْت َواتبَـ َعْت َعَلى قـَ

and joined

agreed and followed in his murder!!

ياَللهـُهمَّ اْلعَ ُهْم َجَِ عاً نـْO Allah! Banish them from Your mercy, them all

Then say 100 times

ِِللِ اَلسَّالُم َعَلْيَك ايَ َااب َعْْ

Salaam be upon you!!

O’ Aba Abdillah!

ْت ِبِفَناِئكَ َوَعَلى ااَلْرواِح الَّيِت َحلَّ

And on the souls

that clustered in your presence;

َعَلْيَك ِمّنه َسالُم لِل

on you be from me the salaam of Allah,

ًا َما بَِقْيُت َوبَِقَي ا للَّْيُل َوالنَّهارُ اَبَِ

as long as I am alive

and as long as the night and day endure!

مْ ِِ ِمّنه ِلِزايرَِتكُ َوال َجَعَلُه للُ آِخَر اْلَعهْ

And may Allah not make this ziyarat

the last ziyarat of mine!

نْيِ اَلسَّالُم َعَلى اْْلُسَ ْْلَُسنْيِ َوَعَلى َعِليِه ْبِن ا

نْيِ َوَعلَى َاْوالِد اْْلُسَ َسنْيِ َوَعلَى َاْصحاِب اْلُْ

Salaam be upon Husein

and on Ali the son of Husein

And on the sons of Husein

and on the companions of Husein!!

Then Say

اَللهـُهمَّ ُخصَّ اَْنَت َاوََّل ظاِل اِبللَّْعِن ِمّنه

O’’ Allah! Upon the first tyrant

be my exclusive curse;

ْأ ِبِه َاوَّاًل َِ َواْباِلَث َوالرَّاِبعَ الثَّاَّن َوالثه ( اْلَعنِ )ثَّ

and banish from Your mercy, the first, then

the second, the third and then the fourth

َِ خاِمس اً اَللهـُهمَّ اْلَعْن َيزيَِ لِل ْبَن زِ ْي ايدٍ َواْلَعْن ُعْـَ

O’ Allah! Fifthly, banish Yazid from Your

mercy and Ubaidallah son of Ziyad;

ٍِ َوِِشْراً َواْبَن َمْرَجانََة َوُعَمَر ْبنَ َسْع

and the son of Marjana

and Umar, the son of Sa’d and Shimr

ََ َوآَل َايب ُسْفيا ََ َوآَل ِزايٍد َوآَل َمْروا

And the dynasty of Abi Sufyaan

and the dynasty of Ziyaad

and the dynasty of Marwaan

ِاَل يـَْوِم اْلِقياَمةِ

Until the Day of Reckoning

Say in Sajda

ُِ اَللهـُهمَّ َلَك اْْلَْمَِ الشهاِكريَن َلَك َعلَى مُ صاِِِمْ َحْ

O’ Allah! To you belongs all praise;

the praise of the grateful to You

on their afflictions!

ُِ هلِل َعلَى َعِظيِم رَ زِيَّيتَاْْلَْم

All praise is to Allah,

on the greatness of my grief!

اَللهـُهمَّ اْرزُْقّن ْلُوُرودِ َشَفاَعَة اْْلَُسنْيِ يـَْوَم ا

O’ Allah! On the Day of the Arrival,

Grant me the intercession of Hussein;

ٍق ِْ َم ِص َِ َوثـَِْهْت يِل َقََ َمَع اْْلَُسنْيِ َِ ِعْن

and keep me steadfast--a firm footing

before You, with Hussein!!

َوَاْصَحاِب اْْلَُسنْيِ

And the companions of Hussein

اَلَّذيَن َبَذُلوا ُمَهَجُهْم ََ اْْلَُسنْيِ َعَلْيِه السَّ المُ ُدو

Those who gave away their life

without regret in the way of Hussein

on him be the salaam

ـَِن الرَِّحيمِ ِبْسِم اّللِه الرَّحْ
