Materials Needed: Writing utensils, paper, random items around

your home

Find or create a pile of 10 to 20 toys. Put your pile into two groups based on shape, color, or texture.

Write an addition number sentence (part + part = whole). Repeat 5

times.

Find 10 items that are circles in your house. Work with a family member

to spell the names of the items. Write the name of and draw a

picture of the items.

Take a video of yourself counting. Start at 1 and see how far up you

can count.

Write numbers 1 through 100. Have an adult check your work when

finished.

Choose your favorite book. Count how many words are in your book.

Write the partners of 10 (All of the addition sentence that equal 10).

Create 5 math stories using objects around the house to complete math problems. For example: I am giving you 8 chips. Then I give you some

more chips. Now you have 12 chips How many chips did I give you?

Identify all 3-D shapes within your house (cubes, rectangular prisms,

spheres, etc.) Write down the name of the shape

and draw a picture of what you found.

For example: cylinder, picture of a soda can. You can be creative and

cut a picture out of a magazine instead.

Using your shoes, measure big items in your house. How many shoes long is your couch? How many shoes long is your bed?

Identify all 2-D shapes. Write down the name of the shape and draw a

picture that matches. Tell how many angles each shapes has and

how many sides.

Draw out 10 number bonds. Fill out each number bond (part, part,

whole) and write number sentences to match the number bond.

For example:

Count by 2’s until you get to the

number 20. Write the numbers

Play “Ten Go Fish” - Remove the king, queen, jack, joker, and ace cards. Each player gets 5 cards. Players match up cards to make

ten. Players take turn asking each other for missing number needed to

make ten. When a player gets a match, he or she draws another card. If a player run out of cards, they draw two from the pile. The

person with the most matches wins.

Write your number words from 0-20 in your best handwriting.

Show numbers 1-20 in all of the ways you know (word form,

standard form, with your fingers, drawing circles)

In the morning, count the items in your fridge and write it down. Count the items again in the afternoon and

write it down. Are there less? More? Same? Show your thinking

by drawing out and writing a number sentence. Count and compare one

more time before bed.

Find things in your house that are rectangles and write them down.

How many did you find? Do this again with triangles. Did you

find more rectangles or triangles? How many more?

Play “War” with a deck of cards. Each partner, take half the deck (or

each use their own deck), keep cards face down. Count to 3 and each partner lays a card face up.

Who has the higher number? They get both cards!

Make it trickier by flipping over 2 cards at the same time, add

together, who has the higher sum? They win both cards!

Write all the addition sentences that equal 4, 5, and 6.

Play Hot Potato Counting: With a partner call out a number from 0-100 while tossing a soft

ball/object (“potato”). The second player must yell out the next number before catching the potato. See how

many times you toss the potato back and forth without missing a

number.

Count 100 items in your house.

Write all the addition sentences that equal 7, 8, and 9.

Step outside and get some fresh air! Look for squares. Work with a family

member to spell the names of the items. Write the name of and draw a

picture of the items.

Have someone in your family tell you a story about their

grandparents.

Find 10 words in a book. Write down the words on

scrap pieces of paper. Cut the words apart by sound. Scramble them up to make

new words.

Read a story of your choice. Choose 3 questions to answer:

1) What was the story mostly about (main idea)?

2) Who are the main characters? 3) What question do you have

about the story? 4) Who is the author and illustrator

of the book? 5) Is the story non-fiction or fiction?

Ask an adult for any junk mail, newspapers, or old papers that

would be recycled.

Cut out 10-15 words you recognize and use them to write

sentences or put them in alphabetical order.

in through your nose to smell it

and breathe out through your

or draw that person a thank you

(even if you can’t give it to them!)

Practice Buddy Breathing!

Lay on your back and put a

stuffed animal, book or toy on

your belly. Fill your belly with air

and try to lift your belly up! Blow

out and watch it go down! Try 5

times!

Sit in your yard/front step and

look at your toes. Count to 20 as

you listen for the different sounds

in the room. What did you hear?

Do sit & reach, push-ups, & pacer.

Dance to your favorite music for 20 minutes OR click on one of the links in the At-Home Physical Education Online Videos Check-Off.

Make a list of the characters in a TV show. Give each one a movement (e.g. jumping jack, hop, stretch). Watch the show. Each time the character says something do that movement.

Carry water to your plants, dog, or cat.

Play Checkers or Chess. Run in place, jump rope, or

hula hoop.

Touch your right elbow to your left knee 10 times. Now

do the same with your left elbow and right knee.

Cross your arms on your chest. Now stretch them way

out. Repeat 10 times.

Hop on one foot as many times as you can. Switch legs

and repeat! Play a card game.

Make a pattern with your body by patting your head, knees, or touching toes. Repeat it as many times as you can!
