2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS BY MACHINES.
2.At this point, we will basically explain the functions of each one of the units which constitute the line, following the numerical order of the enclosed Layout, and the most relevant technical, mechanical and electrical features.
2.1. ITEMS No.1 AND No. 3: UNCOILERS
2.1.1. Description
These machines have as a task to withstand the coils and generate the stress necessary during the uncoiling process of this.
Two parts are distinguished. The first one is the load conveyor car which carries the coil to the mandrel and the second one is the uncoiler itself and the expansive mandrel.
2.1.2. Load conveyor car
The function of this part of the uncoiler is to withstand the coils in the load area and place them in the uncoiler mandrel.
It must have the necessary measures in order to execute the load of the biggest and smallest coils, according to the general specifications of the section 1 of this annex.

For the cross movements, the conveyor cars will have wheels with bearings and will be set up on guides.
This conveyor car will be placed into a pit under the floor according to Layout and will have to incorporate a metal slided shell as a curtain in order to cover the pit either in the advance or the runback of the conveyor car. The lubrication of all the mobile parts of the car will be centralized, manual or automatic, but centralized.
The conveyor cars include a measurement system which allows to place the coil in the center of the line (line axle). The supplier has to explain this system and how it works.
The expansive mandrel will be supported by an axle and some hardened and forged steel ramps in order to support the 10 T. of weight and avoid a premature fretting of the ramps since they are under fretting.

The function of the uncoiler will be withstanding the coils and generating the stress necessary for the uncoiling process.

There are two different parts in the uncoiler: The fixed part will be placed on the foundations and the mobile part will must slide on the fixed one operated by a mechanical system (hydraulic actuator or motor) in order to can make the corrections of the strip uncoiling.
The fixed basis of the uncoiler will be made of strong and resistant steel in order to can withstand the maximum weight of the coil ( 10 Tn) without flexions or vibrations.
The mobile basis will have guides made of a unfretting material and precise enough to make a continuous adjustment in a range of +/- 150mm
Both machines will incorporate a pneumatic or hydraulic actuator system with a roller at the end to avoid the uncoiling of the coil in the line stops.
The uncoiler will have to driven manually in order to load the coil.
2.2 PINCH ROLL
2.2.1 General Description
The task of this units is making easier the uncoiling of the coils and helping in the leading of the plate to the coil joint section. While the machine is normally working they deflect the plate and fasten the height of the line.
It consists of two rollers, one is upper and mobile and the other one is lower and fixed. The roller is set up on a strong and sturdy structure operated by two pneumatic actuators, one in each side of the machine. This way, the two rollers make a clamp which retains the plate.
At the same time, the upper roller is motorized and a worker can operate this motor in order to help the leading of the plate to the coil joint section.
The unit incorporates a desk in the lower area driven by a hydraulic cylinder spinning around a point of the structure. The function of this desk is to make

easier the plate feed to the rollers from the coil. The angle of this desk has to can be manually modified from the PINCH ROLL unit.

2.4. CUTTING MACHINE
2.4.1. General Description
This unit works like a cutting machine for the cutting of the beginning and end of the coils, in order to leave them with an uniform edge for the later joint o these ones.
It will have two razors; one upper and fixed and the another lower and mobile which will have to be easily interchangeables. Hardness: HRC 60-65 / Material: Cr12
2.5. JOINING UNIT
2.5.1. General Description
The function of this unit will be making a cutting of the ending plate of a coil and the beginning of the next one so that we can put crossly a string maintaining joined and supporting tension stress in the different areas of the line.
2.5.2. Technical features
The unit will be made of steel and the structures will be strong enough to work with steel plates of a thickness of 0.8 mm without flexions or vibrations.

The actuator of the unit will be hydraulic through an cylinder placed in the inside part which provides strength enough.

The machine have a die which allows to make a double cutting in the thickest plate, in just one time.
2.6. PLANISH UNIT
2.6.1. General Description
The function of this unit is to planish the rims produced by the joining unit and help to restore the damaged or chipped borders.
It has two rollers, a upper one (mobile) contacting on one lower (fixed) with the strength transmitted by two hydraulic bottles.
It will just act when the joining passing by.
As all the rest of the rollers of the line, they have to be set up on ball bearings unfretting.

2.7. TENSION MACHINE.
2.7.1. General description.
There are 6 tension machines distributed along the line. The function of these tension machines is maintaining the tension in the plate between two of them or between the uncoilers and the first one or between the decoiler and the last tension machine.
An alignment adjustment will have to be included.
Passing by them, the strip makes an “S” whose aim is obtaining the maximum contact with the roller in order to tensioning without having slidings in the plate. The main parts of this machine are.
o Two rollers
o One engine (one engine can guarantee the synchronized movement for both top roller and down roller, so that it can avoid to damage on the plate surface.)
o One supporting structure.
o One clamp roller for the fixing of the plate.
The rollers will have engaged a engine with a transfer case and have to can adjust independently or as a whole both the line speed and the tension stress in each looping.
All the rollers of the line will be set up on ball bearings.

2.8. ENTRY LOOPING TOWER & EXIT LOOPING TOWER
2.8.1. General Description
The function of this machine is accumulating the plate amount enough to guarantee a constant line speed in the process during the stops in the inlet and outlet of the line.
These machines will have such a size that working at 40 m/min we obtain a backup time of 180 seconds.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR COIL COATING LINE
Both looping towers have a mobile platform which can be retract or expand (according to needs) in order to accumulate or let free plate. This platform will must move on a strong and precise guides which will include bearings.
In the upper part of the tower, there will be a platform with handrails made of tubes and, on this platform , the engines, brakes, transfer cases and transmitters which make go up and down the mobile part of the looping tower will place.
The looping tower will be synchronized with the inlet and outlet section according to needs.
All the strings used for the movement transmission must have tension units which guarantee a correct gear assembly with the pinions.

2.9. PRETREATEMENT ITEMS
2.9.1. General Description
The function of this process is cleaning the strip and preparing it with different products for the later coating process. It deals with a process of wetting cleaning, with fluid discharge through spray guns

It has a strong and sturdy basis structure measure to support all the rollers and which during the process it remains steady.

Each one of the areas will work as a independent room to avoid contamination between them and have a piping system in the inside of the room which will incorporate a spray nozzle matrix.
These nozzles will be responsible of spraying water at high pressure on the plate in order to sweep the dirt to the lower part.
The dissolving basins will be placed at the bottom (and on the floor level) and will collect all the fluid which drains from the plate in each one of the different phases. Each of the cotas of the basins will have a spacing in order to overflow in the upper part to the next basin, from where the fluid will be collected to the discharge pump. See picture No. 20.
The tunnel will have rollers in the upper and lower part for the directional change of the strip. These rollers will be set up on ball bearings which will be installed in the outside part of the tunnel in order to avoid the contact with clean fluids. At the same time, they will have a leak system which avoid the fluid goes out to the outside of the tunnel.
Each of the cotas of the basins will have a spacing in order to overflow in the upper part to the next basin, from where the fluid will be collected to the discharge pump. See picture No. 20.
The tunnel will be covered in the outside part by a easily dismountable bonnet which will incorporate pipes to a suction turbine for the extraction of the steam.
The tunnel will incorporate one or more side doors in each access and maintenance area.
These doors hermetically close to prevent the exit of the fluids of coil cleaning.

2.11. CHROMAKING COATING MACHINE
2.11.1. General Description
The function of this machine is applying a thin coating film of a trivalent Chrome compound on the plate surface in order to protect it against the corrosion.
The chromaking or first chemical must be applied with rollers in both sides. It has to work in a similar way to a both-side coating paint head with micrometric regulation of proximity rollers and re-flow the surplus chemical product.
It must have a product collector system in order to can make a closed and filtered circuit.
The product application product will be through two rollers in both sides of the plate. To the rollers in contact to the plate, we will name applicator roller and to the rollers taking the product, catching roller.
Each roller will be driven by an independent engine synchronized with the line speed. When the strip joining passes by, they will be able to decouple.

2.12 HOT AIR DRYING UNIT
2.12.1 General Description
The function of the unit is drying the plate in the exit of the chromaking coating unit for the later application of the first coating.
It is very important that, in this phase, all the air sprayed on the plate have been passed through filters to avoid to leave crud on the plate surface.
There will be access doors for the maintenance works.
Specify how the air is heated. Origin of the heating.
(1) the burner heat the heat exchanger, the heat is exchanged between recycle fan and heat exchanger,the plate is dried by hot wind.
(2) the temperature of wind: 50℃-80℃
(3) the heat exchanger is indirect, so that it avoid to dirt plate when natural gas do not burn enough.

2.13. TOP COATING MACHINE & BACK COATING MACHINE
2.13.1 General Description
The function of this machine will be the continuous application of solved-base paints in both sides of the plate.
The machine have the next well-distinguished parts:
o Base Structure
o Group of rollers to paint the side A or principal:
o Catching roller
o Meter roller
o Applicator roller
o Group of rollers to paint the B side or posterior.
o Catching roller
o Applicator roller
Besides, there will have to include the rest of the rollers and devices which let decouple the head when coil joinings pass by in order not to damage the cylinders.
All the movements among the rollers will be made by means of linear guides and will be strong and sturdy.
For the group of rollers of the side A, some guides on the rest of the group of rollers are set up are included. By means of the hydraulic cylinder, the whole painting head must have couple or decouple in order not to contact with the coil joining when passing by the coater room.
The rest of the cylinders will relatively move among them through guides with great precision.
In order to make the proximity adjustments among the different cylinders, the system of micrometric regulation handwheels as the indicated in the previous point
The rollers will be set up on easily dismountable ball bearings in order to make easier the maintenance works.

2.14. COATING HEAD BY ONE SIDE.
2.14.1. General Description
This machine is similar to the previous one but it only coats the side “A”. It has all the previously detailed elements for the coating of the side A, that is, 3 rollers.
It will have to can couple in order to coat when necessary as well as can automatically decouple when the coil joining passing by.
2.14.2. Technical Features
It will be the same features than the previous room regarding the machine structure, measurements and materials used in the rollers, control, air removal hood, etc.
2.15. PRIMER OVEN AND TOP OVEN
2.15.1. General Description
The objective of this ovens is the correct drying and curing of the coating paint given to the coil (by one or two sides) with circulating hot air.

In order to can correctly dry both sides of the plate, the oven must have a catenary equipment, that is, the plate must to pass through the oven without touching anything.
The catenary equipment of the oven will be placed between the base roller of the coating room and the exit of the plate cooling tunnel. Between these two points, the plate cannot touch anything.
The oven of Primer and top coating will have a indirect flame, in order not to contaminate with the combustion smoke the coating paint.

The oven will have two plenum chambers, one upper and the other lower which will distribute the air to the both sides of the strip for the cured of the coating.

Other portion of the air exits through some ports in the upper part of the oven towards a conducting leading to the scrubber since the cured of the coating let free the solvents which makes liquid. Those solvents must be burned.
Solvents analyser will be placed by customer.
The air impeller turbine engine will be of alternating current and will be controlled by a converter in order to regulate the air amount entering in each zone of the oven.

2.16. AIR COOLING UNIT
General Description
The function of this units lowering progressively and rapidly the temperature of the plate until approximately 40ºC in order to can continue with the process without the risk of damage the coating upon being too hot.
2.16.1. Technical Features
This unit will be built on a machining and welded strong and sturdy structure in order to avoid vibrations in the work process.
Each one will have an upper plenum and another lower with diffuser ports of the air on the plate.
The ports in the two first meters of the plate entry to the air cooling tunnel will be inclined 20-25ºC towards the exit. The rest ports will be perpendicular to the plate. Their function will be avoid the cold air enters the oven.
The air arrives to the plenums impelled by a turbine and they make to pass through dry filters to avoid that borne particles are projected against the coated plate.

2.17. CORRECTION CENTER UNIT
2.17.1. General Description
The function of these units is correcting the strip position along the whole line and maintain it centred according to the theoretical axles of the installation.

This frame incorporate a guided platform spinning on an axle in order to make the correction sliding which will be operated by an hydraulic bottle with its corresponding feed.

The function of this machine is picking up the plate already coated and recoiling with precision in the edges.
It has the same parts as a uncoiler but with a precise edge sensor system.
Increase information of the sensors used in the edge sensor systems of the uncoilers and the recoiler. It have a tension and speed control, recoiled meters measure system.
The decoiler have such a precision that let us make coils with a maximum deviation of 0.5 mm regarding width.
2.20. INSPECTION DESK
It will be used to place a desk for making the quality control of the lacquered plate before recoiling or continuous.
