For a few years now, Protecting Where We Play has served as Mizu’s mission, tagline and mantra. It fully encapsulated an answer to the question of why we do what we do; the words just fit our mission perfectly. But in late 2015 we decided to take the concept one step further, and have formed a new non-profit entity with the same name and a very specific focus.

Protecting Where We Play is a non-profit organization committed to reducing pollution from single-use plastics by installing free-to-use Mizu Water Bars in the places where we play.

From January 1st 2016 forward, Mizu will be donating 1% of its global sales directly into this organization, with consumers and companies also welcome to donate. The funds will be used to award grants for free Mizu Water Bars to be installed at ski areas, beaches, skate parks or any other location where it will help reduce the purchasing of single-use plastic water bottles. My passion for exploring didn’t fade when I retired from professional snowboarding. Instead, it got channeled into the world of wilderness adventure and photography. This has always been my passion, always ready for another mission, whether it was climbing trees in the backyard as a kid or exploring mountains all over the world.

This is why I was really excited to bring our friends, pro snowboarder Kimmy Fasani and pro skier Chris Benchetler, into the Mizu family as official advocates. I knew the best way to welcome them to the family would be to spend a few days exploring their back yard, the Eastern Sierras, and tag along with them on one of their adventures.

Mizu advocate Skye Walker decided to join us because he has never split boarded or camped on snow, making this trip even more special. We hit the road with no plans other than catching up with our new advocates and getting a few photos for this catalog. We got all that and so much more.

Stainless Steel

All stainless steel is not created equal. Mizu uses only the highest quality 18/8 food grade stainless steel, meaning our steel has 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This

perfectly balanced combination of elements creates a molecular bond on the surface of the steel that won’t allow it to rust and leaves no “steel” after taste found in lesser

grades of stainless steel.

Vacuum Insulated

Mizu’s V-Series products are made with two layers of steel with a small space between them and then the walls are “vacuum sealed”. This process creates an

airtight chamber giving the product insulating properties. We also line the inner wall of all vacuum insulated products with copper for increased insulating properties.

HOT for up to 12 hrs & COLD for up to 24 hrs.

Borosilicate Glass

Unlike most glass water bottles on the market today, Mizu’s glass products are made with borosilicate glass. This type of glass is much more resistant to thermal shock than regular glass, enough so to boil water and use in the microwave. Although not

unbreakable, Borosilicate is also much stronger than normal glass.
