Laurie Preece has been an active volunteer and advocate for public education, working closely with teachers, principals, school boards and community members to improve local learning opportunities. She has started parent- teacher organizations, raised funds for myriad school programs and led an elementary school through the process of becoming a school community-based management organization. Will provide independent analysis of the quality management system and implement continuous improvements to the system Responsible for Corrective Action Responses, Work Instructions, Procedures, etc. Good verbal communication skills to be able to problem solve with shop floor employees, provide training, and communicate problems and successes of the assigned production area to others such as upstream operations and upper management.

Quality Systems Engineer:The primary role of the Systems Quality Engineer is to provide quality assurance direction and expertise in the AS9100 Quality Management System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Responsible as the BVR Quality Representative for AS9100 registration activities. Will be the BVR primary contact for third party audits. * Lead and coordinate the internal Quality System audit team and associated processes. Responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and thoroughness of all internal audits.* Responsible for Quality Management System duties to maintain, review, and issue quality system procedures, work instructions, and specifications, including communicating and coordinating approval and release of all new and revised quality related procedures to meet customer and AS9100 requirements.* Responsible for coordinating and executing Material Review Board operations.* Manage the Gage Calibration process for all gages used at BVR. * Responsible for on-time calibration of all gages. Responsible for the FAA repair station process to ensure all requirements (regulatory and internal) are met.* Maintain Quality documents in a Library, assuring that required customer, government, industry, and national specifications are available and

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Proficiency in leading cross-functional teams* Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing methodologies* Proficiency in Minitab* Proficiency in process control tools (SPC, Process Capability, DOE, etc).* Prior experience with FAA regulatory / compliance requirements

Education and Experience:* Bachelor degree in an engineering, quality or other related field.* Three to five years of progressive experience working in a comparable capacity, preferably within the aerospace or medical device industry.* ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, etc.) preferred.* LEAN and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.

15TH ANNUAL NORTHERN ILLINOIS QUALITY CONFERENCENIQC 2012

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 13, 2012. You are cordially invited to the 15th Annual Northern Illinois Quality Conference (NIQC) at the Northern Illinois University, Naperville Campus. NIQC 2012 is sponsored by five Sections of American Society for Quality (ASQ): Chicago, Fox Valley, Heart of Illinois, Illiana & Northeastern Illinois.

The NIQC 2012 theme is “Quality in the 21st Century”. The two-day event also includes seven workshops that will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012.

NIQC 2012 offers attendees the opportunity to learn more about succeeding with Quality. This conference is designed to give attendees an insight on successful industry practices and the tools being used.

Three outstanding keynote speakers are scheduled for Tuesday: Mr. Stephen K Hacker, CEO & Co-Founder, Transformation System International; Dr Hira L Fotedar, President, Fotedar Associates, LLC, and Mr. Peter Shearstone, Divisional VP, Global QA, Abbott Diagnostics.

There will be Three Panel discussions on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. The topics include: Leadership for the Future Panel, Supply Chain Excellence Panel, and Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals Regulatory Excellence Panel. The various panel members are recognized industry professionals, some with global credentials and published works.
