Ted Quinn enters his 4th season as the leader of the Warrior Men’s Basketball program. In his first two seasons at the helm, Quinn guided the men to a 24-36 overall record season and back to back 5th place finishes in the CACC North Division. Under Coach Quinn’s leadership, the program has seen improvement in the classroom and on the court and in year three, the War-riors will look to return to post-season play. The focus on team building and indi-vidual development has produced three CACC All-Conference selections, two NCCAA All-Americans and four NABC Academic Honors Court selections.

Coach Quinn came to Nyack College from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA. During his six year tenure at Graceland (2002 - 2008), he served as Assistant Coach for two years, Associate Head Coach for one year and Head Coach for three seasons. In the last three years as Head Coach, he was successful in rebuilding the program on and off the court, bringing in promising recruits and leading the team to a cumulative GPA of 3.41. Coach Quinn’s commitment to academic success helped produce five Academic All-Americans.

Success in the classroom was coupled with on-the-court success. The Yellow-jackets made a return to post-season play and produced five All-Conference players, one conference Freshman of the Year, one conference Player of the Year and a NAIA First Team All-American. Coach Quinn also built a strong university-community relationship through his Junior Jacket programs, summer basketball camps, and annual Coaching Academy. He served on the NAIA National Tourna-ment Committee for two years and was a member of the NAIA National Ratings Oversight Committee.

Prior to Graceland, Quinn served three years as the top assistant at Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD (1999 - 2002). Quinn helped guide Mount Marty College to annual success in the South Dakota-Iowa Conference and Great Plains Athletic Conference while helping develop three All-American players, seven academ-ic All-Americans and seven all-conference players.

Ted also served as a head coach at Wakonda High School (SD) for two years (1997 - 1999). While there, his teams earned District 8B runner-up, six all-conference awards and a first team all-state award.

During his college career, Quinn lettered in three seasons for the Mount Marty College Lancers after transferring from the University of Minnesota where he was a member of the Golden Gopher baseball team. Quinn served one season as a student assistant for the Lancers while recovering from ankle surgery. As a high school athlete, Quinn was a two-time South Dakota all-state player for Highmore High School. Coach Quinn is a 1992 graduate of Highmore High School, a 1997 graduate of Mount Marty College with a bachelor’s degree in history education, and a 2001 graduate of the Univer-sity of South Dakota with a master’s degree in athletic administration and sports psychology.

In addition to coaching basketball at Nyack, Ted serves as the Assistant Athletic Director. Played in a nationally telav-ised game in high school on espn... chose Nyack because he wanted to compete at the high level of Division II... Psalms 27:1-6 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
