2013 GRESB Survey 1
GRESB is an industry-driven organization committed to assessing the sustainability performance of real estate portfolios (public, private and direct) around the globe. The dynamic benchmark is used by institutional investors to engage with their investments with the aim to improve the sustainability performance of their investment portfolio, and the global property sector at large.
About the 2013 GRESB Survey GRESB collects information regarding the sustainability performance of property companies and funds. This includes information on performance indicators, such as energy, water, GHG emissions, and waste, but the Survey also covers broader sustainability issues, such as climate change risk assessments, performance improvement programs, and engagement with employees, tenants and suppliers.
Timeline & Process
The 2013 GRESB Survey is launched on April 1. The submission deadline is July 1, providing respondents with a 3-month period to complete the Survey. The data submitted via the Survey Portal is verified and analyzed by GRESB. Results are published in September and are distributed as follows:
Respondents: Receive a Scorecard containing their individual GRESB scores, compared to the sustainability performance of peers. On payment of a fee, property companies and funds are also able to obtain a Benchmark Report containing an in-depth analysis of their sustainability performance.
GRESB Members: Receive Benchmark Reports for all of their individual investments. Members also have access to GRESB’s Member Portal, which contains additional functionalities enabling investors to create their own bespoke reports for their investment portfolio.
