Each couple hosts and prepares the en- tree and beverages one time then brings a side dish to each of the other three meals. This adults- only event is a wonderful opportunity for you and your significant-other to create deep relationships with other couples in the church! Our guests are coming!IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) guests are families with children who, be-cause of a crisis situation in their lives, have lost their homes. The program pro-vides for them to live at Austin area churches while they find housing and get

Writing Her Next Chapter…Well, the cliché exists for a reason. It seems like all I did wasturn around, yet more than eight years have passed since Ifirst became SHPC's communications person. I have truly en-joyed showing you the wonderful things you do together asyou live out Christ's great commandment and His great com-mission. But all things belong in their own season, and for mea season of new adventures is beginning!

While I'm no longer going to serve with and for you on staff,I'm not actually going anywhere. The Soqueses have beenpart of the SHPC family for over seventeen years, and we plan to be here for manymore. So I'm looking forward to continuing to worship, grow, connect, serve and prac-tice inviting with you some more. All God's blessings!

-Kimbol Soques

I’m Just Happy to be HereThe path God has in mind for us isn’t typically marked out with abrightly lit neon arrow flashing the words, “Walk This Way!” Latethis spring, however, as I learned that I was facing a layoff froma job I loved, I began to wonder, “Should I be trying to move mycareer in the direction of ministry support?” I had barely begunpraying on that when Larry called me to discuss a potential op-portunity at Shepherd of the Hills. And there it was. My neon ar-row.

Needless to say, I am thrilled to have been chosen to serve you as SHPC’s new BusinessManager and Director of Communications. My very talented predecessors, Greg Mer-rell and Kimbol Soques, have been working closely with me to transition the jobs theyhave cultivated over the years with such passion, and I am immensely grateful fortheir support and energy.

SHPC has been part of the life of my family (myself and my daughter, Alex) for the last11 years. We worship at the Brodie Campus, and I volunteer with True Student Minis-tries, where Alex is deepening her faith with her middle school peers. God is good!
