BAChELoR oF TEChNICAL EDUCATIoN:This program is designed for tradespeople that have either a red seal or the equivalent in education and experience. It offers the same group learning and hands on experience of our leading education program while preparing you to teach your trade in a classroom setting. you’ll learn the most effective techniques and strategies to teach your trade in a public school, community college, or international institution.

Crandall University’s master of Education is a degree designed for educators who want to enhance their abilities to respond to student needs. This 36 credit hour M.ed. is offered in two concentrations: Literacy Education and Resource Education. Both concentrations offer applications-based courses. They equip educators with the tools needed to apply their knowledge. The Literacy Education concentration advances language learning classroom practices for all students, and the Resource Education option focuses on exceptional learners and inclusionary methods. Graduates of the program may serve as teachers, educators, literacy coaches, reading specialists, resource educators, guidance counselors, or researchers.

AThLETIC TEAmSThe Crandall University Chargers are strong competitors in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Although, the Chargers’ are best known for their strong presence in ACAA basketball, soccer, and cross-country, Crandall also offers intramural options in volleyball, indoor soccer, and badminton.

GATHerING TOGeTHerOur chapel is the core of the spiritual life of Crandall University. We want it to be the heartbeat of your daily routine. Students are required to attend two chapel services each week. Chapel provides musicians an excellent opportunity to get involved in worship ministry.

Crandall U accepts applications at any point throughout the year. you can complete the application on our website at crandallu.ca/apply. If you prefer a paper version, you can print it or pick up an application packet on-campus.

To be considered for scholarships, you must complete the application before March 1st!

Students wishing to live on-campus must also submit a housing application.

APPLICATIoN FEEA non-refundable fee of $35 for Arts, Business, Science, and Theology students is required before processing applications. The fee is $50 for education students.

In order to be accepted, Crandall must receive your official high school transcript. This should either be mailed directly from the school or arrive in a sealed envelope from your high school.

CSA: /si ɛs eɪ/ noun 1. The Crandall Student Association is the student government. They work to make your experience here at Crandall a great one!

Commons: /ˈkɒm əns/ noun 1. The large open space with round tables, chairs and comfy furniture in Stultz Hall. Students typically hang out, study, and eat their lunch there. you also may hear it be referred to as the North Commons and South Commons, due to the fact that they are divided by Corrie’s Café.

Faculty: /ˈfækəltɪ/ noun 1. The fancy term for your professors–aka your mentors, advisors, and instructors.

GPA: /dʒi pi eɪ/ noun 1. Grade Point Average; instead of giving a number percentage, like in high school, universities use the letters A through F with a ranking from 0.00-4.33. you can figure out your GPA by taking the total number of grade points received over the period of a semester and dividing it by the total number of credits awarded.

housing Don: /ˈhaʊ zɪŋ dɒn/ noun 1. The kind lady who lives in the apartments and is responsible for the well-being of students who live on campus. She can also help you with maintenance requests! She is not your babysitter, but your friend.

murray hall: /mʌr I hɔl/ noun 1. Built in 1996 and named after former president Stuart e. Murray, this building is where you can find the cafeteria, gym, faculty and administrative offices, and the Brinton Auditorium.

Pod: /pɒd/ noun 1. The space where you live in residence. There are four “pods” on each wing of Colburne House residence that house anywhere from four to eight students.

Stultz hall: /stʌlts hɔl/ noun 1. Built in 2009, and named after Chancellor emeritus of Crandall University, Mr. Jack H. Stultz and his wife Grace, this spacious and bright building houses several lecture theatres, classrooms, the Student Centre, the Crandall Bookstore, and administrative offices.

Syllabus: /ˈsɪl ə bəs/noun, plural syllabi /ˈsɪl əˌbaɪ/noun 1. A fancy term for the outline of your course, usually including information on lectures, your assignments, and their due dates.

The Pedway: /ði ˈpɛdˌweɪ/ noun 1. The walkway that connects Murray Hall and Stultz Hall together. Otherwise referred to as “the glass hallway.” Great for those winter months so you don’t have to go outside to get to your next class!
