Student Weekly Learning Targets

VISUAL ARTS

Daily Activities are below separated by days:

This week’s theme: PLACES

20 Minute Daily Draw: Engage in a minimum single drawing time of 20 minutes daily. Drawings must be a

minimum of 5in. x 7in. Drawing prompts are provided. Choose from the options daily on

the weekly theme. Find the objects in your house and draw looking at the real object.

20 Minute Daily Write: Write your thoughts on the prompt provided. Write one day and the next day revise and

edit. Complete thoughts and sentences are important and required.

10 Minute Daily Art/Artist Dive: Travel the world virtually to learn about art and artists. Explore museums

galleries, exhibitions, artist, art forms and art studios. Look at the black box in this

section, answer the question or share your thoughts. (if technology is not available use

this time to draw or write more.)

Welcome Summer Activity

If more time is needed to complete an area of the daily schedule use it. Explore new art and artists around the

world. Be ready to share your art and writing.

Learning Objectives

Student will develop and expand visual literacy skills using critical thinking, imagination, and the senses to observe and

explore the world by learning about, understanding, and applying the elements of art, principles of design, and

expressive qualities. The student uses what the student sees, knows, and has experienced as sources for examining,

understanding, and creating original artwork.

Student communicates ideas through original artwork and writing using a variety of media with appropriate skills. The

student expresses thoughts and ideas creatively while challenging the imagination, fostering reflective thinking, and

developing disciplined effort and progressive problem-solving skills.

Student will evaluate and analyze artwork using a verbal or written method of critique such as describing the artwork, analyzing the way it is organized, interpreting the artist's intention, and evaluating the success of the artwork.

The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep.
