NS1 and TN 1 27 in 13 countries 9 from 7 countries (China, Republic of Korea, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Nepal)

Promising Entries in the 2011 IRBPHN Screening Tests

Relevant trial information at different test sites is given in Tables 1 and 2. Parentage and origin of nursery entries are presented in Table 3. Local checks used are listed in Table 4.

Greenhouse and Field Evaluation

Reaction scores of 54 entries to brown planthopper (BPH) colonies in greenhouse tests at eight sites are summarized in Table 5. Data sets from sites where damage severity indices (DSI) were 5 and higher were analyzed. The frequency distributions of BPH scores of the nursery entries from greenhouse tests are shown in Table 6. Frequencies of scores, mean scores, and damage severity indices of test entries across locations are given in Table 7.

The following entries were rated good (scores of 3 or better) for BPH resistance in at least 13 tests:

Utilization of nursery entries

For follow-up yield trials. Promising selections from IRBPHN trials were evaluated by two countries in yield trials: 10 in Myanmar and 5 in Cambodia. They are as follows:
