To support Sr. Project Officer to timely fulfill technical and administrative tasks in connection with oversight of the Caribbean Biological Corridor, in terms of making travel and other arrangements, documents and budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
2. Review over work: Describe the way work is assigned (e.g. specific assignments with related instructions, or continuing responsibility, etc.) and the extent the work is reviewed (whether by the supervisor or others) while in progress or upon completion.

3. Qualification required to perform the assigned duties of the post
(a) Skills/knowledge: Indicate kind of, type and length of training required for the post including skill in equipment operation.
Completion of secondary school education. Formal training in Management of Information Systems, Finance, Accounting or Statistical methods and procedures. Knowledge of UN systems and procedures as they relate to Staff Rules and Regulations, personnel and administrative policies and procedures as well as financial rules and procedures desirable.
(b) Experience: Indicate the type and length of practical experience required.
A minimum of four years of progressive experience in Office or Project Management, Finance, Accounting or Audit. Practical experience in IMIS or comparable large-scale financial management information systems is required. Conversant with web-enabled databases

1. Summary of principal functions.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities: Under the overall direction of the Regional Director and the direct supervision of the Sr. Programme Officer, Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, the incumbent will support the delivery of harmonized and coherent project services in the framework of the Caribbean Biological Corridor project in the countries included in the geographical scope of the project.
Major duties and responsibilities. Describe in order of importance what is done and how it is done. Please indicate the approximate percentage of time devoted to each function.
I. Assistance for the effective substantive implementation of the project by:
1. Provides assistance and support to the project team, and partners in project activities 2. Assists in organizing workshops (e.g. sends out letters of invitation and follows-up confirmations, ensures logistical
arrangements) 3. Prepares draft agreements (e.g. small scale funding agreements, etc) upon instructions of supervisor 4. Maintains calendar/schedules; monitors changes and communicates relevant information to appropriate staff inside and
outside the immediate project team 5. Responds to routine inquiries and information requests, including drafting routine written responses, or routes to
appropriate personnel for handling as required
II. Assistance for the effective administrative and financial implementation of the project by:
1. Supports project manager in the sound administration of the project 2. Monitors the implementation of the budget of the project 3. Prepares requests of payments relating to consultants, agreements with other organizations, purchases, etc. 4. Keeps records of all expenditures of the project 5. Performs basic data entry and extraction functions in office databases and documents. 6. Checks accuracy of simple calculations 7. Performs a variety of administrative duties (e.g. meeting organization, reservations, office supply and equipment orders,
teleconferences, etc.), including preparing and/or processing administrative requests/documents (e.g. travel requests, expense claims, vouchers, visa applications, etc.)
III. Assistance in project reporting:
1. Supports project manager in reporting regularly to Headquarters (e.g reports and final reports) and to fill-in UNEP/ROLAC projects database
2. Maintains files (both paper and electronic) that are required to back up progress and final reports 3. Add regularly the reports of the projects to UNEP/ROLAC projects databases 4. Updates and maintains distribution lists; assemble documents, reports and other materials for dissemination, where
possible using electronic formats
IV. Other:
