STEWARDSHIP: Theology of Stewardship – A Wider Approach to Fundraising … Fund raising would not then stand out on its own as an

isolated task, but it would be integrated into our overall task as spiritual leaders. It would help shape vision in congregations and enable people to see themselves and their resources in a new way, a gospel way.

PIETY STALL: Open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings before and after 9am Masses. Please contact Marion

on 0415 917 496 for more information.

SUPPORT OUR CHURCH REPAIR WORKS: Parishioners are encouraged to think about possible ways of supporting our Parish. In what you can support? Please fill in the new census form. Parishioners who

come to our church regularly or occasionally, including volunteers and visitors, please fill in the New Parishioner Registration Form. Your presence is very important to our parish. 1. Consider joining in Planned Giving Programme. 2. If you are already in the program, please contribute regularly. 3. Donation of any amount is welcome to support our Church repair. Our small meeting room also needs attention. Any parishioner willing to donate, please contact Fr Paul.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT – 29 MARCH 2020: Tawonga is a 10-year-old girl, living with a disability. She lives in a village in northern Malawi in a region plagued by food insecurity and poverty. For most of her life, her parents have struggled to put meals on the table. Tawonga often had to miss school

because she was too sick from hunger. The family also faced discrimination in their community due to her disability. Since participating in a Caritas Australia supported program, Tawonga’s life has transformed. Her family now grows enough food to provide three meals a day, ending the struggle of malnutrition, and helping her thrive at school. Please donate to Project Compassion 2020 to so this transformational program can continue to empower vulnerable women, men and children, and strengthen the communities around them. Let’s Go Further, Together. You can donate through Parish boxes and envelopes, by visiting www.caritas.org.au/projectcompassion or phoning 1800 024 413.

MESSAGE FROM FR PAUL RAJ: Dear Parishioners, The world is in shock, and in tension. There is uncertainty about our future. No one can predict how the future will hold. There are many speculations around us. Amidst all these,

let us keep our TRUST in Jesus. I like to draw your attentions on a few pastoral matters. Our Church is temporarily closed: it is disappointing to know that our church, and all our churches are closed. This new directive is from our Government and Archbishop. No one is allowed to enter for private prayer. I offer my private Mass in my office room. I pray for all and we are all united only in our prayer life. Useful websites: Please keep up your personal prayer life, watch Mass on TV and other websites. Here are a few: Parish Website: http://www.olmchilton.org.au Archdiocese Website – www.perthcatholic.org.au Archdiocese Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/perthcatholic/ The Record YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMFFqA8iYLlIVIb72LXMYFQ/live Please read Archbishop’s latest pastoral letter. There is many useful information given to us. Also, I have attached another flyer from Catholic Marriage Service. It is also a good resource to read as it has many practical pastoral news. In an emergency, please don’t hesitate to ring me or send an email to parish office. I am available always. Support to our Parish: Lastly, as you all know that our parish depends, and it can survive only on your support. No weekend Masses and it means no financial support. How can you help our Parish? • Parish office is opened, and you are welcome to visit

and may drop the envelopes. • Best way to continue your financial support or our

parish is to join Direct Debit for the 2nd collections. (support of parish) Direct debit form is attached. Please fill in your details and email back to us or just drop it to our parish office. To support your priests of (1st Collection) you are welcome to transfer your offering to Hilton Parish Presbytery Account.

HOME 1. Build a home altar or shrine. Setting aside a sacred space in your home encourages your family to pray. Candles, a crucifix, a Bible, holy water, and your favourite sacred icons and images can all be placed around a small table to uplift the soul to God. 2. Participate in the Mass. While Mass may be suspended in many places, Catholics can still participate in the Holy Mass via livestream and worship as if they are

actually there. During this time, Ascension will be livestreaming Sunday Mass celebrated by Fr Mike Schmitz at 10am on YouTube and celebrated by Archbishop Nelson Perez of Philadelphia at 11am on both YouTube and Facebook. 3. Pray a daily family Rosary. Set aside 20 to 30 minutes each day to gather around your home altar as a family and to pray the Most Holy Rosary for a swift end to the pandemic, for all those afflicted, for all healthcare workers, for the souls of the faithful departed, and any intentions you and your family may have. 4. Gain a plenary indulgence every day of COVID-19. The Church grants a plenary indulgence to all those who are suffering from the coronavirus, to healthcare workers who are treating those affected, and to all the lay faithful. In order to obtain the plenary indulgence, Catholics must have the will to fulfill the usual conditions as soon as possible and do one of the following spiritual acts: For those suffering from the coronavirus & healthcare workers treating them: ♰ Attend Mass (even if this is only possible through

video streaming). ♰ Pray the Rosary. ♰ Pray the Stations of the Cross. ♰ If Mass, Rosary, or Stations of the Cross is not

possible, pray the Apostles’ Creed, an Our Father, and a Hail Mary.

For the rest of the lay faithful: ♰ Read the Bible for at least half an hour. ♰ Pray the Rosary. ♰ Pray the Stations of the Cross. ♰ Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The spiritual act must be offered for the following intentions: the end of the pandemic, relief for those afflicted, and eternal salvation for those whom the Lord has called to himself. 5. Study God’s Word. By studying God’s Word and pondering it in our hearts, we will grow in our faith and fall in love with Scripture. Source: Website: Ascension

OUR LADY of MT CARMEL NOVENA

God our Father, prompted by Your Spirit the order of Carmel has from the beginning dedicated itself to the Mother of Your Son. As she unites her prayers with ours, look with favour upon us and bless our families, keep each of us from harm And bring us to the joy of heaven. We ask this through Jesus the Lord. Amen.

SOULS in PURGATORY PRAYER Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen.

OUR LADY of ALL NATIONS PRAYER Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war. May the Lady of All Nations, the Blessed Virgin Mary, be our Advocate. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PRIESTS by ST CHARLES BORROMEO O Holy Mother of God, pray for the priests your Son has chosen to serve the Church. Help them, by your intercession, to be holy, zealous, and chaste. Make them models of virtue in the service of God’s people. Help them be pious in meditation, efficacious in preaching, and zealous in the daily offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Help them administer the Sacraments with love and joy. Amen.
