ENGLISHTag Questions
A tag question is a special construction in English. It is a statement followed
by a mini-question. The whole sentence is a "tag question", and the mini-
question at the end is called a "question tag".
Question tags are used in conversation to get a (positive) reaction from the
person you are talking to.
The basic structure is:
Notice that the question tag repeats the
auxiliary verb (or main verb when be) from
the statement and changes it to negative or
positive.
Verb Patterns
Sometimes in a sentence, one verb follows another. For example, I want to
buy an electric car. The first verb is 'want', the second verb is 'buy'
In sentences like this, there are different possible patterns. For example:
(a) I want to buy an electric car.
(b) I hate driving.

In sentence A, the first verb is followed by an infinitive.
In sentence B, the first verb is followed by a gerund (-ing) form.
The verb patterns are dependent upon the first verb. There are several
different types of pattern. When you learn a new verb, you need to learnthe verb pattern. Unfortunately, some verbs have more than one possible
pattern! Sometimes, if a verb has two patterns, each pattern can have a
different meaning or use.
Here are examples of some of the patterns:

Mixed Conditionals
Those of you who have been following the Conditional Tutorial should now
be familiar with present, past and future conditional verb forms. Sometimes
Unreal Conditional sentences are mixed. This means that the time in the if-
clause is not the same as the time in the result. Study the examples below tolearn how to mix conditional verb forms like a native speaker.

Pollution
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into an environment that
causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem i.e. physical
systems or living organisms. Pollution can take the form of chemical
substances orenergy, such as noise, heat, or l ight.
Air pollution, the release of chemicals and particulates into theatmosphere. Common gaseous air pollutants include carbon
monoxide, sulfur dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and nitrogen
oxides produced by industry and motor vehicles. Photochemical
ozone and smog are created as nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons
react to sunlight. Particulate matter, or fine dust is characterized by
theirmicrometre size PM10 to PM2.5.
Water pollution, by the release of waste products and contaminantsinto surface runoff into river drainage systems, leaching into
groundwater, liquid spills, wastewaterdischarges, eutrophication and
littering.
Soil contamination occurs when chemicals are released by spill orunderground leakage. Among the most significant soil contaminants
are hydrocarbons, heavy metals, MTBE,[8] herbicides, pesticides andchlorinated hydrocarbons.

The name Canada comes from the St. Lawrence Iroquoian word kanata,
meaning "village" or "settlement". In 1535, indigenous inhabitants of the
present-day Quebec City region used the word to direct French
explorerJacques Cartierto the village of Stadacona.
Cartier later used the wordCanada to refer not only to that particular
village, but the entire area subject to Donnacona (the chief at Stadacona);
by 1545, European books and maps had begun referring to this region
as Canada.
A federation consisting of ten provinces and three territories, Canada is
governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy
with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is a bilingual nation with both
English and French as official languages at the federal level.

MATHAbstract reasoning
Abstract reasoning tests, or diagrammatic reasoning tests as they are
sometimes called, are psychometric tests which use diagrams, symbols, signs or shapes instead of words and numbers. In other words, they are
visual questions.
And because they require good visual thinking skills rather than verbal or
numerical skills, they are often considered to be a very good indicator of a
person's general intellectual ability.

For this reason they are given to applicants over a wide range of jobs.
All abstract reasoning tests are strictly timed, and every single question will
have one, and only one correct answer.
