ORCIP is an open infrastructure of the National Roadmap of Research Infrastructures of Strategic Relevance that will allow the scientific community and industry to test, measure and certificate advanced optical & radio systems.

Who can benefit:SMEs:

The infrastructure will be an instrument to lower the barrier of entry of SMEs in innovation activities in the next-generation telecommunications areas.

Universities and Research Institutes: Increasing the capability of generating research results and/or project

gathering; Training

Operators & Large Enterprise: Field and Lab trials involving vendors and operators; Collaborative R&D projects.

Technical areas covered: 5G solutions for radio and converged access networks Machine to machine communications Multi-gigabit wireless transmission using Millimeter Waves Wireless power transmission

ORCIP testbed purpose:• Combines the realism of physical testing with the scalability and flexibility of

simulations.• Allows the network reconfiguration for heterogeneous wireless and optical

communications with multiple protocol stacks for next generation physical technologies.

• Provide researchers and industry with a platform infrastructure, which allows testing and evaluation in an integrated (realistic) way: taking into account every layer from physical devices to applications.
