The grape crop was of good qaallty and would havebrought into the County nearly twice the mnount realized had Itnot been for the October rains and the transportation situation.0ut-of-Stabe shipments of grapes were 6~3 car loads. Of these,567 were refrigerators, 242 box cars and 34 express cars.Local car load shipments were 221. The tonnage moved by tallwas 16,000 tons. We estimate that 4,000 tons were carried outby truck, 8,000 tons crushed and 2,000 tons spoiled on the vinesby rain. To have moved the crop satisfactorily would have takenthree tLmos the ~nount of refrigerators furnished.

In the above figures, the tonnages are taken from therecord of shipments and do not contain estimates. The valuesconfuted are taken from the average prices secured by thevarious marketing agencies , ~u.d are the net returns to thegrower-.
In comparison ~.,~ ~ thelast two years, the net valuesare favorable. The 102~ crop was worth ~3~808,000.00 and the]923 crop was worth ~’’~2,2~5,000.00.
Apples and cherries were the poorest c~ops, both intonnage and rettmns, being about 40% of normal,
It is of interest to note that with a 50% grape crop.we nloved as many tons and received slightly more money than everbefore. This is the firsb season that the entire 5rape crop ofthe County has been shlp~ ed.
The Pear growers enjoyed a profitable season, althoughthe crop was below normal. The computatlens above include 750tons which were drying stock.
The 1924 season was dry, but otherwise favorable. No unusual losses were sustained by weather conditions, insectpests, or diseases.

All~roFs ma~u~ed light in weight Considerable dmnage was doneto the crops subject to fungus troubles, in particular, cherries and grapes.
As a result of the softening by spring rains, and thedevelopment of Bro~wn Rot, the cherry crop was a total failure.Dry hot destroyed approximately 50% of the Zinfandel, andsimilar varieties of grapes.
The pear tom, age is 50% greater than in 1924, owingto an increase in the bearing acreage; the percentage of anormal set being about as the preceding year.
