The Houston Refugee Project AmeriCorps team celebrated MLK Day of Service with Houston’s MLK Grand Parade. 2020 marked 26 years of The MLK Grande Parade in Midtown Houston, TX. This parade is one of the largest single-day multicultural events in the U.S. The HRP VISTAs along with The Alliance AmeriCorps State and National members assisted with check-in and organizing the parade participants to ensure the parade logistics flowed smoothly and correctly. disbursing any donations we

receive at Alliance and he's

at the Holiday party and

cheering others on!

Maryam Nabhani started her service term off

classes that each meet twice a week and has

Memorial Assistance Ministries, as a representative for a health fair and

she even networked with a literacy provider from Urban Outreach to

suggest ways her AmeriCorps cohorts can branch out and teach in other

areas of the community. We are so grateful to have her as a member of

our AmeriCorps team!
