He was born to Srinivasa Sastry &

Venkachamma.

The Entire world should know about him.

A Great Indian Genius in constructing

Dams.

He is the first and pre-eminent engineer in

India.

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya

once said :

“A man should do any work he

undertakes methodically-that was

firm faith”

Every man should understand

his responsibility.

Sir M.V., was born on sept 15th,

1860 in a Village known as

‘Muddenahalli’

in Chilkaballapur Taluk,

Kolar District.

His father died in kurnool when

Visvesvaraya was just 15 years old.

Sir M.V., completed his lower

secondary schooling in

chilkballapur.

After schooling, he joined

Central college in bangalore

for his graduation.

He completed his B.A from

Madras University in 1881

And..

Completed his B.E Civil engineering

from college of engineering, Pune

in 1883.

Then his easeless

journey as

Philanthropist..

He became assistant

Engineer in bombay

government service

in 1884

Later as a chief engineer

in Hyderabad and served

for 7 months

Starting April 15, in 1909.

Next chief engineer in

Mysore state from

November 15, 1909.

He was also the secretary

of the railways.

He was the president of

Education and industrial

Development committee

in Mysore state.

From then he was called

As ‘Dewan of mysore’

[starting 1912]

Later..

Became chairman of

Bhadravati iron works.

Became a member of the

governing council of the

institute of science,

Bangalore.

Became a member of the

governing council of the

Institute of science,

Bangalore.

And again a member of

the

Governing council of

Tata and Steel company

[TISCO]

Member of Back Bay

Enquiry committee

In London.

Member of a committee

Constituted in 1917 to

make

recommendations

regarding the future of

Indian states.

Later..

Again he joined as a

chief engineer in Mysore

because

He wanted challenging

Opportunities.

Sir M.V had

earned a

reputation for his

Honesty,

Integrity, Ability and

to his Intelligence

To name few of the many

Things, He was responsible

for architect of the ‘Krishna

raja sagar’ dam

and

Bhadravati Iron and Steel

works

To name few of the many

Things, He was responsible

Design “Automatic weir water

flood gates” for khadakwasla

Reservoir, Pune

The biggest in Asia.

He designed and painted that

system of automatic weir

water

flood gates, which were first

installed in 1903

at the khadakwasla

Pune.

This man saved the

Vishakapatnam port

from soil erosion.

Sir achieved a celebrity stature

when he designed a

Flood protection system to

Protect the city of Hyderabad

from floods.

During his tenures,

sir introduces compulsory

Education which later became

fundamental right in

Indian constitution.

He was never interested in

Fame & Publicity

But..

They came to him on

their own..

Indian Postal Stamp

He once said

“Remember, your work may be to

only sweep a railway crossing, but

it is your duty to keep it so clean

that no other crossing in the world

is as clean as yours”

After he reaching his admirable destiny

Through his kind heart and intellectual

Brain in all directions so he could

finally Sleep in peace on

12th April 1962.

We miss him ever and never find him

such

Like person in the world.

In India September 15th is

Celebrated as engineer’s

Day

in memory of our

Beloved

sir M Visvesvaraya.
