1.4 Whether there is any revision/update of regulation or syllabi, if yes, mention their salient
aspects.
The CBCS offers a ‘cafeteria’ approach in which the students can choose courses of their own
choice.
• The credit system allows a student to study what he prefers in his own sequence as per his
interests.
• They can learn at their own pace.
• They can opt for additional courses and can achieve more than the required credits.
• They can also opt for an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
• Inter college/university migration within the country and outside becomes easy with the
transfer of Credits.
• Can opt for one part of the course in one institute and the other part in another institute. This
will help in making a clear choice between good and bad colleges/ institutes.
• The students have more scope to enhance their skills and more scope of taking up projects and
assignments, vocational training, including entrepreneurship.
• The system improves the job opportunities of students.

Practice:
▪ Principal and staff members, along with the NSS and NCC students clean the college
campus, classrooms, laboratories and workplaces by spending 2 hours after flag
hoisting.
▪ The staff members of the college along with students of NCC and NSS clean the college
campus on national days. Around 400 students from NCC and NSS along with all the
staff members are involve in campus cleaning. Students are divided among the staff
members in various teams who are assigned definite area in the college campus.
Presence of principal and staff members motivate the students for campus cleaning. This
has resulted in changing the attitude of the large number of students towards cleanliness.
This is a special cleaning drive on National days in addition to regular cleaning activities.
Around 3108 men hours are invested per year in campus cleaning from 2nd October 2014
and about 9324 Hrs are spent on campus cleaning till date.
Evidence of Success:
▪ Efforts have resulted in changing the attitude of the students towards cleanliness and
waste management.
▪ Clean and green campus is highly appreciated by students, parents and guests resulting
in improving brand value of the college.
Problems Encountered and Resource Required:
▪ Need for more student’s participation beyond NSS and NCC
▪ More resources to convert this best practice to Institutional Social
Responsibility by involving in Cleanliness drive beyond College campus.
