Repaso- revision

This week I would like you to spend your hour of Spanish either catching up with incomplete work or revising what you have done.

You could spend some time on duolingo or linguascope to practise the vocabulary we have seen over the last 4 weeks or you could look back through your notes and do some revision of vocabulary and perhaps get someone to test you.

If you have not completed any of the tasks over the last 4 lessons then please use this time to catch up so that you are ready to move on with everyone else after half term. Please keep emailing me at vlozano@wigmore.hereford.sch.uk so that I know how you’re getting on.

Lesson 3: ¿Qué vas a hacer?

LO: To be able to say what different things you are going to do using the simple future tense

Starter: Can you remember these infinitives without looking them up?1. To play2. To read3. To go4. To cook5. To sing6. To danceDo you remember any others?

Para empezar:Voy I am goingVas You are goingVa He/she is goingVamos We are goingVais You (pl) are goingvan They are going

5

Examples in English…➢This weekend I am going to go shopping with my friends.

➢Tonight we are going to play footballon the field.

6

How do I do it in Spanish?1. Take the present tense of ‘ir’ (to go).

Voy – I am goingVas – You (s.) are goingVa – He/she/it is goingVamos – We are going

Vais – You (pl.) are goingVan – They are going

7

How do I do it in Spanish?2. Plus ‘a’

3. Plus the infinitive, for example:

➢bailar – to dance➢cantar – to sing➢cocinar – to cook➢escuchar – to listen➢jugar – to play➢vivir – to live➢comer – to eat

8

Note that they all end in AR, IR or

ER! ☺

What’s an infinitive?!?!

9

➢ If you look up a verb (doing word) in the dictionary it will give you the infinitive.

➢ Basic form of the verb before it’s been conjugated.

➢ In Spanish it will either end in AR, IR or ER.

➢ In English it is just a verb with ‘to’ in front of it, for example:

to sing, to play, to run, to dance, to eat, to live

Examples➢Voy a bailar – I am going to dance.➢Vas a vivir – You (s.) are going to live.➢Va a comer – He/she/it is going to eat.➢Vamos a jugar – We are going to play.➢Vais a cocinar – You (pl.) are going to cook.➢Van a escuchar – They are going to listen.
