AMSTERDAM MARKETINGAmsterdam Marketing is the city marketing organisation of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, active in the fields of promotion, information, research and services. Our ambition is to put this region on the map as one of the five most attractive metropolitan areas in Europe for its residents, visitors, businesses and influential groups. Under the motto ‘I amsterdam’, we present the region as a dynamic place to live and work, an attractive travel destination and a test market for innovation. We strongly believe that we are more than the sum of our parts. For you, the advertiser, this creates an unprecedented network of communication resources to reach different target audiences – nationally and internationally – as effectively as possible.

Target audiencesOur advertising opportunities are substantial and diverse. To present them as clearly as possible, we have clustered the various means by target audience: residents, visitors from the Netherlands, international visitors and business-to-business. As an example, many cultural institutions specifically target the local residents and visitors from within the Netherlands, such as with the Uitkrant or its associated cultural website. Larger institutions and museums can also reach out to international visitors through the new English-language city magazine A-mag. Businesses working in the tourism sector can also easily reach their target audience via the substantial iamsterdam.com website or, for instance, by narrowcasting to designated visitor profiles in the city’s tourist offices and ticket shops. Additionally, to communicate to the right organisations in the travel industry and conference market there are specific newsletters available.

ConsultancyWe are delighted to present all of the advertising opportunities that our new city marketing organisation has to offer within this brochure. We hope you will take inspiration from these materials and contact our staff about the requirements of your publicity campaigns. They will gladly guide you through the use of our promotional tools and can also work with your specifications to create a custom solution that fits your company perfectly.

Schouwburg Amstelveen23 decemberDeLaMar Theater, 2 t/m 9 januari

i’sDIGITAL OUT OF HOME - TAXISAdvertising on tablets in premium taxi’s • The CabTab is a tablet placed in a taxi which provides passengers with information on at-

tractions and areas worth visiting. The tablet is interactive and also offers the possibility to immediately carry out a booking or purchase. By providing the passenger with insights into his journey, destination and surroundings, the CabTab adds value to the ‘lost’ travel time.

• Banner Campagne: When a passenger steps into the taxi, he will first be shown a welcome screen which lasts for 10 seconds. This is the first and most prominently present message shown on the screen of the CabTab. You can already start your service before your custo-mer arrives, or continue the service after the customer has left you

• Deals: By placing invitations in the CabTab, you provide the passenger of the taxi with rele-vant information regarding your company. Passengers are able to search by kind of com-pany, for example restaurants or clubs. Via the CabTab, the passenger can send a unique code to his own device. When the customer shows the code at your establishment, he will receive what was offered by you. As the personal data of the passenger will be saved, you will be able to send him similar invitations or messages in future. In consultation with the commissioner, an offer can be placed with a fixed commission per obtained customer

• Reach: on average, one taxi ride lasts 13,5 minutes. 1 taxi ride equals to approximately 1,8 persons. On average, 1 taxi drives 11,7 rides per day. 200 taxi’s with CabTab ride within the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area

DE MOGELIJKHEDEN

CABVERTISE

Canal Belt village

‘Utrechtsebuurt’ is the un-offi cial moniker used by many local residents and

business owners for a charming slice of the Canal Belt fl anked by the Amstel River and the Reguliers-gracht, situated between the Rem-brandt- and Frederiks squares.

QUALITY STREETUtrechtsestraat, which runs through the area, offers a varied se-lection of shops, including bou-tiques, bookstores and designer fur-niture and homeware stores, with beautiful views of the Canal Ring. André Sprangers, a resident for 52 years and owner of high-end shoe shop Zwartjes van 1883 (number 123 ) says, ‘The Utrechtsestraat is about selling quality in a quality en-vironment. With plenty of inde-pendent businesses, the emphasis is on pleasing local shoppers.’The street’s popularity has recently attracted some chains, too, includ-ing local lifestyle store Sissy-Boy (numbers 81-83 ), sustainable su-permarket Marqt (number 17 ) and international fashion brands

such as American Apparel (number 85 ) and Marc by Marc Jacobs (number 120 ).‘Customers are often served by the owner of the store, which makes it feel like a village street within a big city,’ Sprangers continues. ‘Many storeowners live above their shops, which is why the Utrechtsestraat re-mains a lively and safe street even after closing time. We take care of our street – and that shows.’ Things weren’t always this rosy in Utrechtsestraat, named for the for-mer Utrechtsepoort city gate. While the street has been a bustling shop-ping destination since its creation in 1658, prostitution and drugs were a major problem on the 600-metre street as recently as 1985.

EXTREME MAKEOVEREyeing the neon glare of Thorbecke- and Rembrandt squares, it’s hard to imagine that one of the city’s busiest nightlife districts was once home to an adjoining dairy and cheese mar-ket. THE REDISCOVERY OF THE WORLD

In a crowd-sourced, image-dominated age where everybody with a smartphone is a photographer, what artistic value does the medium hold? Young Dutch photographers address this question with works directed at the very nature of photography itself, rediscovering the world as they do so. This inaugural exhibition at the newly expanded Huis Marseille photography gallery features new works by, among others, Hellen van Meene and Viviane Sassen.

015CULTURAL FLYER CONFERENCE MARKET AMSTERDAM METROPOLITAN AREA

VISITORS PROFILE 2015In 2015 we will conduct a large visitors profile research in the metropolitan area of Amsterdam. About 9.000 visitors (business and leisure) will be interviewed during the entire year. They will be interviewed in different locations around the metropolitan area. These face-to-face interviews include questions about leisure, stay and origin. This research will lead to further understanding of visitors’ characteristics. Based on these results, we will be able to provide new visitor profiles. Key points in these profiles are orientation and decision-making, but also includes information about activities, expenditures, satisfaction and frequency of visits. Each participant will also fill in information about several socio-demographic characteristics such as age, country of origin and gender.

The results will be presented and published in 2016. Governments, companies and organisations can participate in this research, or request specific reports.

For further information, it is possible to contact our research department at [email protected] or per phone at 0031 20 702 6110.
