• The idea now is to just have Henry VIII marry his dead brother’s wife– Problems with that?

has to go through dispensation– AKA dissolved

• By 1505, Henry says marriage arranged without his consent

• Henry has a major fear…• 1509 – Henry VII dies

marriage to Catherine– Marriage quickly follows
