APEX: Student Leadership 10, 11, 12 Application Form

APEX is a course of study and practical application that requires students to learn leadership principles and put them into practice. No experience is necessary, although students who have taken MEI student leadership courses will have priority consideration. This course is designed for students in grades 10, 11, and 12. APEX runs on Wednesday mornings, from 7:00 - 8:00 am in the Library. Part A: Answer the following questions in 1-2 paragraphs (not bullet points). If you need more space, complete your answer(s) on a separate sheet of paper and attach it to the hard copy of the application.

Conditions by which all Senior Leadership students will abide: *Because of limited space available, students will only be considered if they meet acceptable academic standing, demonstrate excellent work habits, and submit appropriate written responses.

*APEX students are required to attend Senior Leadership events and regularly participate in/attend school events and activities that may not be run by Student Leadership (athletics games;drama/band/choir events; Christmas Banquet; etc.). Refusal to attend will be considered grounds for dismissal from Senior Leadership.

*APEX students are required to demonstrate leadership skills and qualities in all classes, not just leadership class, and to uphold all MEI values, especially those related to honesty and integrity.

*APEX students will be subject to regular work habit checks for all classes.

*Any academic or behavioural issues requiring disciplinary action by school administration is grounds for dismissal from APEX, including detentions.
