Who we are

Athene Communications is a PR and communications consultancy, delivering strategic solutions in four key areas of work: PR, internal communication, PR for educational institutions, and community and stakeholder engagement.

Our Community Engagement team works with a range of clients across a range of industries, including commercial and residential property development, energy and infrastructure.

Our clients include The University of Cambridge, Howard Group, Peterborough City Council, Hallam Land, Hopkins Homes, Larkfleet Homes, Scottish Power Renewables, and Royal Haskoning DHV. Current projects include a major offshore wind farm, a 2,000 home urban extension and a £900m scientific and research redevelopment scheme.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an account manager to take responsibility for leading on key stakeholder and public consultation, mostly for commercial, residential and urban regeneration projects, within our busy and thriving Community Engagement team. This includes public relations, political analysis and the preparation of content for social media, public exhibitions, and websites.

Ideally you’ll already have around 3-5 years’ project management or in-house communications and PR experience, and will be comfortable with

having strategic conversations with clients at a senior level. You will need to be highly organised with the ability to plan projects over several months, and to be willing to get to grips with some of the nitty-gritty aspects of the role. Ideally, you’d have an understanding of the UK planning sector – or have a willingness to learn!

What we’ll expect you to do

As account manager, you’ll spend your time:

or existing contacts, tender opportunities or attending networking events
