Thank you to Ben McSweeney for his detailed preparation and execution of the working bee and to Lyndal Van Hooft and her team for making sure everyone had lunch and treats. Thank you to all the parents and children for giving generously of their time and hard work. Our school looks spectacular. Thank you!

NAPLAN 2018 All Year 3 and 5 (plus Year 7 and 9) students completed NAPLAN assessments in Week 3, Term 2. Each year NAPLAN Student Reports are sent home to families. NAPLAN Student Reports will be sent home this week. NAPLAN Student Reports provide individualised information regarding student strengths and areas of need in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Language and Numeracy. While these reports provide useful information on student performance, the data is a point-in-time assessment, and should be considered in conjunction with all other available information, including your child’s school reports. Although the student reports will be sent home this week, our school summary reports have yet to be uploaded onto our school-based system. Until all schools throughout Australia fully transition to online testing, there are (understandably) inconsistencies with comparative data, so we will be publishing comparative data less than we have in previous years (this is the advice that has been given to all schools). For more information, please visit www.education.nsw.gov.au/news/announcements/naplan-student-reports-out-this-week or NAPLAN Frequently Asked Questions at https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/student-assessment/naplan-online/frequently-asked-questions Tanya Rose Principal

Well done Rebecca, what an amazing achievement! Sydney North Area Athletics Carnival Yesterday, Alice L, Bronsen B and Marcus P competed at the Sydney North Area Athletics Carnival at SOPAC Homebush. Their results are as follows: Alice – personal best in the 100m event. Placed 14th in the Sydney North Area. Bronsen – placed 9th in the 800m in the Sydney North Area. Marcus – personal best in the 100m and 200m events. Place 4th in the 100m and 6th in the 200m in the Sydney North Area. BPS is very proud of your achievements yesterday. Finals Time! Congratulations to the many students who played in grand finals over the weekend. Some wins, some losses and some draws. From all the students I have spoken to the resounding message was that they enjoy playing sport and being active with their friends! It doesn’t get any better than that!
