Introduction

A product’s success often depends on creating a good user experience or UX, as it is often referred to as. After all, not many customers will give a product or service another chance if their rst experience with it is’nta good one. If you are involved in creating a product, it is it is worth-while to invest your time to design each aspect of the user experience well, so that your customers always go feeling satised and happy with the product.

Of course, it is entirely possible to get a bit overwhelmed since UX design has so many facets, and learning everything all at once can be hard.

The fact of the matter is that the user hardly cares about your eciency, capability or technical savvy when it comes to the software, simply because that’s not what the customer sees. To the user, the interface and the interactions it provides is what is important to them. The overall tangible design is what they interact with. They don’t care about the complex mechanisms that are happening behind the scenes.

What this means is that if your interaction design goes wrong somewhere along the way, it can spell disaster. Back when computers weren’t a regular use item, the software used to be complex, dicult and had an intricate set of machinations to operate. But ever since the dawn of easier to use GUI design, computers have thoroughly saturated the market.

They are present everywhere from schools and oces to our homes for our private use. In response to this, the design philosophy for interacting with the software has changed rather rapidly. It is true that UX is still evolving; changing science and it will most likely always remain so. As new software and new platforms keep getting developed, UX must adapt with it.

But through this book, you will be able to learn some tried and tested practices that are considered the best practices in the industry. They can be applied to most design situations, regardless of whether you are a developer, designer, or copywriter. This book will hopefully teach you some new tips and tricks.

If you are able to incorporate a few of these practices into your next project, you’ll begin to see the dierence.
