Mountain bikingBogus Basin is home to some of the best mountain biking in Idaho. Discover over 20 cross country trails, including the widely renowned Around The Mountain. Bogus Basin also offers four downhill-only trails, including Berm Baby Berm, Morning Star, G19 & Learning Curve. Don’t have a bike? Stop by the Retail Shop, and choose one from our fleet of rentals.

Music on the mountainAs part of our nonprofit mission, we offer a 100% free live music series for you and your family to enjoy all summer long. Join us on our one-acre lawn for foot-stomping tunes and relaxing mountain air during five select Saturdays.

Bogus Creek PlazaThe Bogus Creek Plaza, located outside the J.R. Simplot Lodge, features a beautiful patio and food offerings with a full-service bar. Enjoy a flavorful meal or drink from the Double R Ranch BBQ Smokehouse while listening to live music during select Music on the Mountain Saturdays throughout the summer. Find your very own hidden treasures at Shafer Butte Mining Co., a great all-ages gem panning activity, located by the Summer Activities Center.

Bogus Basin proudly partners with St Luke’s to improve community health and safety

Bogus Basin operates under a Special Use Permit on the Boise National Forest under the USDA.

TO SHAFER BUTTE At 7,590 feet Shafer Butte is the highest mountain in the Boise Front. Views of Boise, the Owyhees, Sawtooths, and Seven Devils will take your breath away. Ride Deer Point chairlift then begin your hike on Chair Connector to Elk Meadows to Lodge Trail to Pack Trail with a final push to the summit on the cat track. There are many routes to choose from to get you back to the base area.
