Welcome to Eastbourne Theatres autumn entertainment programme. We have a wide range of shows with hopefully something for everyone to enjoy.

We are working once again with Original Theatre Company who will be presenting a major new revival of the classic thriller Wait Until Dark in August prior to a national tour.

This September, we are really pleased to be collaborating for the first time with the Grand Theatre Wolverhampton on their production of Brassed Off. Adapted from the 1996 film, the play of course features a full brass band playing live.

We are also delighted to welcome Joe Brown, Jimmy Carr and the legendary US band Dr. Hook to the intimate setting of the Devonshire Park Theatre, as well as another season of world class concerts from the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

West End smash hit musical The Million Dollar Quartet arrives in November as part of its world tour. Inspired by the true story of a one off recording session that brought together four Rock ‘n’ Roll icons for the first and only time.

Finally, it’s the middle of Summer so surely we must be gearing up for Pantomime! We are thrilled to welcome back Martyn Knight and Tucker alongside another ‘Tucker’ in the form of Todd Carty (Grange Hill, Eastenders) as the evil King Rat in our spectacular new production of Dick Whittington and his Cat. I know it’s only August but we have already sold over 12,000 tickets so do book soon if you haven’t already to secure the best seats.

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to welcoming you to Eastbourne Theatres soon.

Very best wishes Chris Jordan Artistic Director Eastbourne Theatres

DEVONSHIRE PARK THEATRETuesday 10 – Saturday 14 OctoberLondon Classic Theatre present

Directed by Michael Cabot Designed by Frankie Bradshaw Lighting by Andy GrangeIn Private Lives, strong passions and stronger personalities set the stage for a classic battle of the sexes.

1930. Deauville, France. Two newly-married couples occupy adjoining honeymoon suites in the same hotel. As a distant orchestra plays, Sibyl gazes adoringly at charismatic husband Elyot, while Victor admires his new wife, the vivacious and sophisticated Amanda.

Champagne flows and the sea shimmers in the moonlight as the newlyweds prepare for the evening ahead. But when Amanda overhears a familiar voice singing a forgotten song, an old spark reignites, with spectacular consequences.

Full of razor-sharp wit and quick-fire dialogue, Private Lives remains Coward’s most popular and enduring stage comedy. Since its opening at London’s Phoenix Theatre in August 1930, the play has retained its remarkable appeal, captivating audiences worldwide.

Following its success in the West End, Las Vegas and on Broadway, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is coming to Eastbourne! This worldwide smash-hit musical is inspired by the famous recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time.On December 4, 1956, these four star musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, written by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, brings that legendary night to life, featuring a score of rock hits including Blue Suede Shoes, Fever, That's All Right, Sixteen Tons, Great Balls of Fire, Walk the Line, Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On, Who Do You Love?, Matchbox, Folsom Prison Blues, Hound Dog and many more.
