In this shot the woman is running into the ocea, wide shot is used here so that that audience can get an over view of the scenery. There is happy music being played in the background to make the audience feel as though it’s just an ordinary day at the beach We are now getting an under- water wide shot view of the victim. We are now getting an under- water wide shot view of the victim. It is like the audience is the shark watching her swim along happily. The music is still very happy and casual

She has now been captured by the shark and is being dragged around. The victim sounds like she is laughing and that she is getting some type of enjoyment out of it. This confuses the audience as we think that its probably a dolphin but she is then suddenly dragged under water.

Cinematography – the art of this opening scene is very gloomy and sad. It’s very modern even though it is an old film the audience of contemprorary society would appreciate it. Editing- There are about 3 different shots used (Wide shot, Panelling, close up). This is effective because it adds adrenaline and tension to the scene. Mis en scene- it is set on a beach however it looks pretty late in

the day to be at the beach. Darkness is connoted with death therefore the audience would assume that someone is about to die.
