TO INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CAMPS

young people to summer camp „Bucovina Outdoor Adventure”.

COUNTRY/CLUB: ROMANIA / Rotary Club Dorna MOTTO: Let’s Go Outside - Outdoor experience OBJECTIVES: Discover and developed abilities to work as a strong intercultural team by

helping and learning from each other during the orientation, survival or team-building activities. Discover the beautiful of Magic Bucovina Land and Mountains.

PROGRAM: See the appendix; PARTICIPANTS: 12 young person (6 girls and 6 boys)- only one participant from each country AGE: 16- 20 years

Acceptation will be made strictly in order of arrival of applications! No pre-reservations accepted without full application form. The decision about acceptance or refusal of the candidate is strictly within the responsibility of the organizing club. The organizing club will inform applicants about their decision as soon as possible.

LANGUAGE: English ACCOMMODATION: Three stars Guest House near The Călimani National Park. Accommodation are

in a double room with private bathroom.

FOOD: Romanian cuisine, European cuisine. We will provide all meals. At lunchtime when we’ll be on trekking it could be just a snack or a lunch in mountain huts.

COST: 400 Euro, via bank transfer, due at confirmation of reservation. Cost include accommodation, meals, transportation and occasional taxes for National Park or activities.

INSURANCE: All participants must have a valid insurance for outdoor activities that can cover illness, accidents and third-party damages according to Rotary International recommendations.

ARRIVAL: 14 of June – landing on Cluj-Napoca Airport. DEPARTURE: 27 of June – by plane from Cluj-Napoca Airport. VISA: Participants from non-EU countries will have to obtain their Visa for Romania.

Guiding Experts (International Mountain Leader - UIMLA member) will guide the group every day on trekking or outdoors activities. You are strongly required to stay on group. Only with the guide permission, if it’s possible, to do anything else.

Clothing Robust trekking boots (MANDATORY, if you do not have them, you might not be allowed to take part in trekking or survival activities). 20-30l backpack for mountain tour Light wind jacket (waterproof) Long and short trekking pants Underwear for mountain conditions (about 2000 mt height) Sunglasses Clothing for outdoor activities.

Transportation During the camp transportation will be provided by us. Applications Closing date on 15 of May 2020.

Appendix – Timing and activities

Sunday (14.06.2020) – Participants arrival at Cluj-Napoca.

Day 1 Monday (15.06.2020)

Regulation processing within the camp; three hours sightseeing tour

in Cluj-Napoca; travel to Vatra Dornei. Guest room accommodation

on Vatra Dornei. All guests will be invited to RC Dorna meeting for

the official Camp’s opening, president’s welcome speech;

participants will do a short presentation of themselves and their

country. Entertainment and socializing dinner.

Day 2 Tuesday (16.06.2020)

Breakfast, Campsite organization; travel to Ciocanesti – Egg

Decorating Workshop with trainers, lunch, team building activities,

dinner, free time.

Day 3 Wednesday (17.06.2020)

Breakfast, visiting Calimani National Park – Visiting Centre, visiting

“Tinovul Mic” Swamp, lunch, orientation lesson – theoretical

introduction, dinner and indoor team games.

Day 4 Thursday (18.06.2020)

Breakfast, traveling to the sulphur quarry, trekking to Retitis Peak

(2021m), lunch, orientation lesson – practical exercises, dinner and

evaluating the day’s activities.

Day 5 Friday (19.06.2020)

Breakfast, applying orientation lesson in the field – in Calimani

Mountains, lunch, team building activities, dinner, administrative

time.




Day 6 Saturday (20.06.2020)

Breakfast, trekking to 12 Apostoli Peak (1760 m), lunch, shopping

time in Vatra Dornei, dinner, free time.

Day 7 Sunday (21.06.2020)

Breakfast, traveling to Rarau-Giumalau Mountains, trekking to

Pietrele Doamnei (Lady’s Stones), lunch, trekking to Piatra Soimului

(Hawk Stone), team building, dinner and indoor team games.

Day 8 Monday (22.06.2020)

Breakfast, traveling to Vatra Dornei, visiting traditional wooden

spoon, cheese manufacturing workshop, lunch, team building

activities, dinner and indoor team games.

Day 9 Tuesday (23.06.2020)

Breakfast, traveling to Rodnei Mountains, trekking to Lala Lake to see

wild mountain peony reservation, lunch, team building activities,

dinner and administrative time.

Day 10 Wednesday (24.06.2020)

Breakfast, trip with “Mocanita” – old Romanian train – on Vaser

Valley, lunch, free time, dinner and indoor team games.

Day 11 Thursday (25.06.2020)

Breakfast, traveling to Turda, visit Salina Turda, lunch, visit Turda City

and shopping time, dinner and team building activities.

Day 12 Friday (26.06.2020)

Breakfast, trekking Cheile Turzii (Turda Gorge), lunch, travelling to

Cluj-Napoca, shopping time and visiting Cluj, dinner free time.

Day 13 Saturday (27.06.2020)

Participants departure – Cluj-Napoca.
