Abstract Back in 1952 API (The API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards) came up with a methodology to predict turbine meters or pre amp failures by installing dual pickup coils 90 degrees out of phase. The intention was to determine when a turbine blade is missing or a pulse is missed on one pickup but not the other, where level B pulse fidelity would alarm for missing pulses. Dynamic Flow Computers intelligent flow diagnostics goes beyond simple missing blades or pulses but extends it to actual turbine meter performance evaluation and setting it up against stored initial performance history when the flow computer was first installed. Dynamic Flow Computer uses a 2 Mhz clock for precise determination of rising time and fall time for each blade and each time that blade returns. Conditions affecting repeatability and meter factor are detected and alarmed for early on before becoming a major issue. Having This technology is crucial for peace of mind when it comes to turbine meters or similar rotating type meter technology. Automatic Performance Zones Configuration Different performance zones are automatically configured to better accommodate the irregularity of rotating type meters at different flow rates Related Documentation: Micro MS4 / Micro 100 Gas Operator Manual (4 Gas/Crude Meters) SFC332L Liquid (2 Meters) Operator Manual SFC332P Prover Operator Manual

Any regular occurrence of thesetypes of events must cause theequipment and/or wiring to besuspect and investigated. Pulsesecurity check circuitry is notintended to facilitate continuedoperation with a poor wiringinstallation which is prone toelectricalnoiseortransients.

Where dual pulse security fails DFC flow measurement diagnostics predicts measurement errors in all rotary type meters.
