What can students expect while interning?

As a website and social media intern with Lakeshore Public Media, the student will gain valuable knowledge and experience overseeing

the day to day updates for each. Additionally, an intern will have input on ways to make the platforms more efficient and effective. Along

with being the main person overseeing these areas daily, students will have the chance–depending on their ability– to gain more

responsibilities.

The North-Township Trustee Office is a government agency serving the

communities of East Chicago, Hammond, Highland, Munster, and Whiting. Its primary function is to provide Township Assistance to the less fortunate. They do this through an extensive application process, making sure the right people are getting the assistance needed. The Office also owns and maintains The Hess Cemetery location in Hammond, Indiana. The North Township Trustee provides a free bus service, Dial-a-Ride, to all resident’s living within the boundaries of the Township.

What students can expect while interning?

Education Interns will be assisting clients with filling out different types of applications and making copies of client documents. They will

give basic computer and Microsoft classes and could help with some training. Accounting Interns would be working in their Accounting

Department filling in for staff that would be on vacation or absent. They would help out with work other staff members may need in

Accounting.

The Northwest Indiana Education Service Center (NWIESC) strives to be

REGIONAL Federal Credit Union is a $125 million community chartered

The opportunity will allow the student intern to gain experience in sales, customer service, business development, research and

and human resource areas, including training and internal communications.

The Whiting Arts Council was established in 2010 under the leadership of Mayor

Joseph M. Stahura, who sought a way to bring together local arts organizations into a collaborative, cohesive group. Today, the Council is composed of the following arts organizations: 119th Street Artists, Arts Alive!, Calumet College of St. Joseph, The Whiting Summer Symphony, Marian Theatre Guild and the School City of Whiting. The Council holds a 501(c)3 designation through a relationship with the Whiting-Robertsdale Community Improvement Corporation. The primary meeting and display space for the Whiting Arts Council is Studio 659, a building owned and maintained by the Whiting Redevelopment Commission. The Studio serves as the hub for a variety of mission-oriented activities including gallery openings, arts-oriented classes, musical performances and a host of other civic events.

What students can expect while interning?

Studio 659 is seeking an intern to supplement and manage volunteers, assist in the planning and execution of special events, and

promote Studio events through various forms of media. By the end of the program, interns should be able to manage an events budget.

Interning with the Whiting Arts Council is ideal for a student interested in learning about the practical execution of the arts, working with

volunteers, managing non-profit organizations, or working in the complex environment of civic organizations. Particular majors that may

consider this internship include those students studying Media & Fine Arts, English, Business Management (with an interest in non-

The Northwest Indiana Oilmen, a pre-professional minor league Baseball Club, are

members of the Midwest Collegiate League and play their home games at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, Indiana. They seek motivated

college students who want great work experience through an internship within a sports organization. They work with the college to

ensure that students receive college credit for the internship position. Interns must provide their own transportation, and some light

travel may be required depending on months of internship and locations of the Oilmen events.

Some intern positions can begin in January, others with a start in April and go through mid-August. Interns will be required to work

some nights and weekends both in office and/or remotely working/reporting on game activity.

SMDG develops and promotes UN/EDIFACT EDI-messages for the Maritime Industry and is an official Pan European User Group,

recognized by the UN/EDIFACT Board. The original objective of the group was to agree to a standard format for the exchange of ship

stowage planning information. This became known as the BAPLIE message which defines the position of containers in a vessel. The

initial development process was slow, reflecting the wide range of interests involved as well as their geographical spread. However,

The Office of the Porter County Prosecuting Attorney is established by the Indiana Constitution at Article VIII, Sec. 16, which prescribes

newspaper and websites, and they are frequently filled to capacity (15 to 20 participants).
