CLUB NEWS • 4-H Goat Club– will meet September 9th at the First Baptist Family Life Center.
• 4-H Shooting Sports– first meeting will be on September 3rd at 7:00pm. The meeting will take place at the old American Legion Hall on the fairgrounds.
• Frenstat 4-H- will meet September 4 @ 7pm at the Frenstat Recreation Hall. All elected officers for 19-20 year will need to be present for officer installation.
• 4-H Horse Club– will now meet the 2nd Monday of each month starting at 7P.M.
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN SEPTEMBER SEPTEMBER 1st
• New 4-H Year Begins– Each 4-H year starts with zero-enrollment. This means all 4-H members, whether new or returning, must complete their enrollment through 4-H Connect to become an active 4-H member for the new year. Returning
members do not complete a new profile. You log in-to your existing profile, update all info, and pay the participation fee. Duplicate profiles will get
deleted. 4honline.com

National 4-H Congress is a five-day event that engages high school
aged 4-H members in leadership, citizenship, global awareness, and
inclusion. Participants not only have the opportunity to participate
in state-of-the-art educational workshops and hear from world-
renowned speakers, they also have the opportunity to network with other 4-H
members from across the United States.

Annual Fair Meeting–
Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 6:30pm at the EXPO. Anyone who purchased a membership ticket from a fair queen candidate will be welcome to attend.
TEXAS 4-H LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE November 28-December 3, 2019
The trip is organized and chaperoned by the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program; youth participants are required to pay a stated
registration fee that covers the majority of costs incurred during the six day, five night experience. Exact amounts of funding vary from year to year
and are announced when the first invitation is sent to eligible 4-H members
2020 TEXAS 4-H CONGRESS
July 12-15, 2020 Sheraton, Austin Hotel at the Capitol in Austin,
TX. Requirements: senior 4-H members: A select number of 4-H delegates will be allotted to each
district. First come serve basis until registration is filled. Texas 4-H Congress allows 4-H members to experience the law making process first hand by
writing, submitting, and then serving as a member of the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Press, or as Lobbyists. From these
roles, the 4-H members determine the fate of each bill submitted. For more information, please visit

JUNIOR MASTER PHOTOGRAPHER The Texas 4-H Junior Master Photographer
(JMP) Program provides advanced instruction to photography enthusiasts. As a Junior Master Pho-
tographer, youth will be expected to return to their counties and districts to serve as teen leaders for the project. Additionally, Junior Master Pho-tographers may be called upon by the CEA or 4-
H Specialist to serve as photographers for varies 4
-H events and activities. Only dedicated photog-raphy project youth wishing to expand their
knowledge as well as service to others should ap-ply for this opportunity. In other words, youth do need to have a good working knowledge of their
camera prior to attending this advanced training. Candidates must be: 7th-12th grade, attend BOTH
workshops I & II, Complete a competency test with a minimum score of 80%, submit four photos taken by applicant demonstrating understanding of instruction, participate in at least on practice event, complete a photography community ser-
vice, take part in at least 2 organized project expe-riences. Although there is no yearly perfor-
mance requirement, JMP are expected to re-turn to counties and districts to help expand
their photography programs. They receive the JMP pin and certificate. Certified JMPs in 9th
grade are eligible to apply to the State 4-H Ambassador program.
Workshop I: Sunday, September 29th Register on 4-H Connect before September
16th! Space is limited to first 50 participants. Workshop II: Saturday, December 7th Registration on 4-H Connect October 25th-
November 25th.
JUNIOR PHOTOGRAPHY AMBASSADOR The Texas 4-H Photography Ambassador Program provides opportunities to grow in the
photography project though community service, workshops, training sessions, field trips, and lead-ership/citizenship activities. Photography Ambas-
sadors serve in photography corps at state-level events, taking official event photographs. They
can expect to be called upon to photograph club, county, and district events as well. Having fun in
an important part of learning, so photography ambassadors are encouraged to participate in hands-on events. They are expected to engage
others, helping to promote learning and fun in the

Capital Farm Credit’s Community Outreach Grant Program provides grants to 4-H Clubs to assist
them in bringing positive change to local communities by establishing projects that make communities better places to live. Grants range from $500-$1000; dependent on the proposed

2020 4-H OUTDOOR CHALLENGE SAVE THE DATE- June 21-23, 2020
The 4-H Outdoor Challenge is a contest consisting of 10 activities set up for teams of two to compete within their age division. The activities could cover basic skills and knowledge in outdoor safe-
ty, outdoor skills, swimming, paddling, shooting, wildlife and habitat, biologist skills, fishing, first aid, outdoor gear consumer education, off road bicycling, and climbing. Registration will be
on 4-H Connect from April 15-May 15, 2020. Participation will be limited to the first 50 full teams that register. $50 per contestant.
