CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: NOISE WALL CONSTRUCTION WORKS ALONG TRAVANCORE PARK, TRAVANCORE

The CityLink Tulla Widening project involves adding lanes and other measures to improve the flow of traffic across the 24 kilometre section of freeway from the CityLink tunnels to Melbourne Airport. The project will also provide travel time savings per trip between Melbourne Airport and the West Gate Freeway during peak periods.

The project will deliver a safer, more reliable freeway. Generally, an additional lane is being added in each direction, as well as upgrades at key interchanges including Bell Street, Mount Alexander/Flemington Road and on the Bolte Bridge to West Gate Freeway entry ramp.

Leighton Contractors is the construction contractor for the Bulla Road to Power Street section of the project.

We are writing to advise that we are carrying out construction works next month.

Where we will beIn-between Travancore Park and the CityLink freeway, as shown on the indicative map below in red.

When works will occurWorks will commence over the coming months and construction hours will be 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. On occasions we may need to work outside of these time frames to ensure public and worker safety. We will notify you in advance of any changes to these hours.

What we are doing In January 2016, we will be installing a temporary noise wall on the boundary of

Travancore Park to help minimise noise from demolition works and the use of heavy equipment in Moonee Ponds Creek.

Following the installation of the temporary noise wall, we will be demolishing the existing noise wall located nearby on the CityLink freeway. This will help make space for an additional traffic lane on the freeway.

We will also relocate underground utility services as part of the upcoming works. A new permanent noise wall will be constructed upon completion of the freeway

widening works. We will notify you in advance of these permanent works.

What you may notice during constructionAs we carry out these works, you may notice construction personnel, heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes or concrete pulveriser, and site vehicles around Travancore Park and Moonee Ponds Creek.
