Medical Surgical Review Course Nurses are essential to helping patients recover, learn to manage their chronic

illnesses, or transition to the end of their lives with dignity and comfort.

Are you looking into how to advance your professional development through certification? Need a reliable and credible reference resource? No matter where you are in the process, make sure you have the most valuable review and resource tool at your disposal.

Originally viewed as an entry level position where nurses could gain experience before entering into a specialty, Medical-Surgical Nursing requires mastering so many skills, it is now considered a specialty in and of itself. Medical-Surgical nurses provide direct care to adult patients in a variety of settings and is the largest group of nurses, accounting for almost 1/6 of the nursing profession.

The medical-surgical nursing field has progressed from an entry-level job position to a unique comprehensive specialty. This field is no longer seen as a stepping-stone but a specialized science—the backbone of a healthcare institution. Currently, medical-surgical nurses are the most common among all nurse specialties.

Medical-surgical nursing is an exception field in the sense it is not limited to the disease process or body systems but rather, holistic in approach. It requires nurses to acquire and maintain diverse and extensive knowledge and skills on the different aspects of nursing care. A medical-surgical nurse should strive hard to possess a wide variety of competencies and knowledge to survive on different situations in the workplace.

Because it is the foundation for health care, medical-surgical nursing is the perfect area for foundational learning for novice nurses and students. The primary requirements for nurses who want to be medical-surgical nurse is to obtain comprehensive knowledge and competency to be versatile and flexible when facing diverse settings.

The course provides content knowledge to assist the learner with preparation for the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Exam.

Wilson Shepard Education Associates does not administer actual certifications. We specialize in live lecture review to provide registered nurses the tools to pass their certifications. The actual certifications are taken following an application process through the appropriate association.
