rides his/her bike to school and uses the bike rack available, it is at their own risk. We

encourage them to have a lock, but we are not libel for any damages or if the bike is stolen.

BICICLETAS DAÑADAS O ROBADAS Tenemos en la escuela un estante para las bicicletas. Hay que saber que montar en bicicleta a la escuela y/o usar el estante, está a su propio riesgo. Les animen usar una cerradura, pero no somos responsables si sea la bicicleta dañada o robada mientras esta en el estante.

Comprehensive Learning Plan for Students Learning English

In June 2007 District 6 developed a comprehensive Literacy Development Plan for students learning

English. The goal of the plan is to meet the academic targets outlined in the district’s strategic plan, to meet the Annual Measurable Achievement

Objectives for language acquisition, and to make AYP targets. The 2011 updated edition, now titled District 6 English Language Development Plan, is available to be viewed on the district’s website.

HEARING & VISION SCREENING! Our students are scheduled to have their vision and hearing tested on Thursday, October 13th and Wednesday, October 19th. If your child wears glasses, please make sure they bring their glasses with them on those days. We are in need of some volunteers on these days. We will need 10 volunteers in the morning between 8:30 & 12:00pm and 10 volunteers between 12:30 & 3:30pn. If you can volunteer, please call the health office at 970-348-1126.

Fall Festival will be

Monday Oct. 31st 1:30-2:00pm

Students & parents will not be allowed to dress

in costumes or wear face paint.

If you do not wish for your children to

participate in the parties, please inform your

child’s teacher as soon as possible. Parents may

make arrangements to pick your children up

during the parties, or they may stay and

teachers will provide other activities for them at

the time of the parties.

Un Plan Comprensivo para Aprendizaje del Inglés a los

Estudiantes En junio del 2007, el Distrito 6 desarrolló un plan

comprensivo del desarrollo de la literatura para los estudiantes quienes están aprendiendo el inglés. El

propósito de este plan será de alcanzar con las metas académicas que estableció el distrito para todos los estudiantes del Distrito 6. Estas metas son de lograr Objetivos Medibles Anuales para el adquisición del

lenguaje y lograr metas de Progreso Adecuado Anual (AYP).

La edición revisada para el 2011, ya titulado el Plan del Desarrollo del Ingles del Distrito 6, está disponible en el

sitio del web del distrito y en la oficina principal de la escuela. Favor de hacer preguntas para apoyar al

aprendizaje de su hijo/a!

¡EXAMENES DEL OIDO Y DE LA VISTA! Nuestros estudiantes recibirán exámenes del oído y de la vista el jueves el 13 de octubre y el miércoles el 19 de octubre. Si usan lentes su hijo/a, favor de asegurar que los traigan en esos días.

Necesitamos ayudantes para el Día del Examen de la Vista. Necesitamos 10 ayudantes en la mañana de las

8:30 a las 12:00 y 10 ayudantes en la tarde de las 12:30 – 3:30. Si nos puedan ayudar, favor de llamar a la

oficina de salud.

Se llevaran a cabo el lunes el 31 de octubre

desde la 1:30pm hasta las 2:00pm.

No se permiten a los estudiantes, ni a los padres

vestirse con disfraces o poner pintura en las

caras.

Los padres que no desean que sus niños

participen en estas fiestas favor de

comunicarse con el maestro. Pueden hacer

arreglos con la maestra a recoger a los niños/as

durante las fiestas, o si se quedan en la

escuela, los maestros puedan preparar

actividades alternativas.

It’s fundraiser time!

Please support your child in participating in this year’s fundraiser!

Fundraising packets will go home Friday Sept. 23rd. Please return your Fundraiser forms and money no later than Oct. 11th.

We have partnered with MRZ/Red Apple Fundraisers

to help us reach our fundraising goals this year. We will use our money to fund the Multicultural

Festival in May and to help pay for attractive improvements & upgrades throughout the building.

FREE OR REDUCED LUNCHES

Was your child receiving Free or Reduced price meals at the start of the year, but now is not? Here are a few reasons this could be happening:

If a student ends the prior school year receiving Free or Reduced meals, this status carries over for the first 30 operating days of school. This year the carry-over date is through 9/30/11. If a new application is not received and processed during the first 30 days the student’s meal status will change to “Full Pay” on 9/30/11.

Another reason – The application turned in was not filled out completely or correctly. In these cases, Nutrition Services will make every attempt to contact the individual completing the application to let them know of the issue. This does delay the process of approval.

Lastly – An application may have been received and completed correctly, however the income no longer meets the USDA guidelines. This results in the application being denied.

What Can You Do?

If you have not filled out an application for the 2011-2012 school year, please do so as soon as possible, as a new application is necessary every school year.

Applications can be received any time during the school year and may be turned in at the cafeteria, school office or at the Nutrition Services office located at 2508 4th Ave., Greeley, CO 80631. If your income changes because of job loss or cut in pay, it may be beneficial for you to submit or resubmit an application.

queremos lograr a nuestras metas para este ano. Usaremos el dinero para el Festival Multicultural en mayo, y para mejorar el ambiente físico por toda la

escuela.

COMIDAS GRATIS O DE PRECIO REDUCIDO

¿Recibía su niño comidas gratis o de precio reducido en el comienzo del año, pero ahora no? Aquí están unas pocas razones de lo que podría estar sucediendo:

Si un estudiante termina el previo año escolar recibiendo comidas gratis o de precio reducido, los beneficios se conservan para los primeros 30 días de la escuela. Este año esa fecha es 9/28/10. Si una nueva aplicación no es recibida y procesada durante los primeros 30 días se cambiarán al precio regular comenzando el 29 de Septiembre, 2010.

Otra razón- La aplicación sometida no fue llenada completamente o correctamente. En estos casos, Servicios de Nutrición harán cada tentativa para contactar al individuo que complete la aplicación para dejarles saber del asunto. Esto demora el proceso de aprobación.

Por último- Una aplicación puede haber sido recibida y puede haber sido completada correctamente, sin embargo los ingresos ya no concuerdan con las pautas del USDA. Esto resulta en la aplicación que sea negada.

¿Qué Puede Hacer Usted? Si usted no ha llenado una aplicación para el 2010-

2011 año escolar, por favor hagalo tan pronto sea posible, ya que una nueva aplicación es necesaria cada año.

Aplicaciones pueden ser recibidas a cualquier tiempo durante el año escolar y pueden ser sometidas en la cafetería, la oficina de la escuela o en la Oficina de Servicios de Nutrición localizado en 2508 Avenida, Greeley, CO 80631.
