Editorial Hello all Club Members,
Another year has gone by, with some tragedies and triumphs, as
most of them seem to be. I hope you enjoyed the year in spite of
threatened global warming, terrorist risks and the rise of the Colling-
wood Football team (carn the Pies!).
It is usual at this time to make predictions on what may happen in
2016, so here is your editor’s look into the year to come.
• There will be some political scandals (they can’t help them-
selves).
• Tony Abbott, aided by the Nats and a few backbench recalci-
trants and Bill Shorten, will mount a coup on the Turnbull gov-
ernment. They fail and resign en masse.
• Driverless cars will be introduced, but due to a sudden failure of
the GPS signals they will run amuck, with chaos on the roads.
The Army will be called out to blast them away with shellfire, and
a good thing too.
• The ABC will undergo a radical change and start showing TV
programs that people actually enjoy watching, stealing viewers
from the commercial channels.
• Fremantle Dockers will lose another Grand Final, keeping their
trophy cabinet in pristine vacant condition.
Well, there it is, a year packed with action. I do hope that your year
will be everything you could wish for. Sorry about the Dockers.
Keep on Chevying,
Hugh.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
NEW MEMBER
We welcome Rick Collie of Clarkson who owns a 1986 Camaro and a 1955 Bel Air. Having two Chevs is twice the fun, or is it twice the expense? Anyhow Rick, enjoy the experience.
Hi fellow Chev admirers, As I write this report our President (Neil) is currently in hospi-tal and is unable to submit his usual monthly report. I hope everyone had a joyful Christmas and New Year catching up with friends and relatives without too many dramas along the way. The Chev Christmas party was well attended and I thank all those who contributed to the arrangements, with a special thankyou to Heather. This year’s stealing Santa was not as spirited as it has been in previous years but everyone enjoyed themselves in the festivities. I look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting which is now being held on the second Sunday of every month. Ken.

On New Year’s Day Roly, Rick and Hugh put their 1950’s cars on display at the annual Cuban Day on Nedlands foreshore, where a huge number of sweet young things and their partners came for a day of fun, food and live music. We were treated royally, dining on oysters and champagne and viewing the scene. We agreed it was worth our time and are looking for-ward to next year.
At left, Roly and Rick enjoying a feast of oysters. Below, at the starting gates. The crowd was estimated at 2,500.

Some of the Brough Superior motorcycles found in a barn in Cornwall, UK. It was on one such machine that T E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) fatally crashed in 1935. Restored, they are worth huge money. Thanks to Roly for this story.
