Editorial Hello all Club Members,

The AGM was held on Sunday June 12, with various awards

presented by President Neil Fullwood. Congratulations to all winners,

especially Steve Florisson from Esperance who won the Marie

Stevens award for the best article in the Chevroletter. As Esperance

is a long way from Perth, around 750kms, Steve was not present to

accept his trophy, but will get a plaque instead. All trophy winners

received a plaque as well as their trophy, but the trophies will be kept

at the Club rooms at Ridleys on their behalf. This makes it much

easier to locate them when required.

Not many positions changed hands at the meeting, with Paul

Fullwood taking on Events as well as Club Treasurer.

Last Sunday I took two of my grandsons up to York in the ‘51 to join

in the display of cars old and new. The oldest by far was Ross Ains-

worth’s restored 1910 IHC motorised buggy, which he built from

scratch with old parts from all over. The newest was a current model

Lambo. I had a great time with 8 grandkids and their 6 parents who

joined us later. Diplomatically they all voted the ‘51 the best car on

display.

Keep on Chevying,

Hugh.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello Chev Enthusiasts,

Well it looks like you have to put up

with me and my ramblings for another

2 years. The committee has remained

fairly unchanged except the events

director and committee. So give your

support to our new events crew as they have some good

ideas for the year ahead.

Last month’s run went to the Pickers & Collectors in

O’Connor for a look at things old. If you haven’t been here

before it is worth a visit. They have man cave items as well

as things the ladies may like.

This month we will have our Christmas in July (You should

have booked by now). This promises to be a good day of

food and discussion. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Neil.

How Sweet the roar of a Chev four!

Bits and Pieces For all those who are about to sit for their driver’s licence, there is a handy website which may help. Log on to www.drivingtestwa.com. The site includes guide summaries, practice tests, study and test-taking tips to help people pass any of the WA driving tests on their first attempt.

****

A busy weekend coming up, with the CMC Quiz Night at Cannington on Friday and the Christmas in July lunch at Boab Tavern in High Wycombe on Sunday. There are plenty of activities to get involved with in the Chevrolet Club.

**** Below is a fairly rare example of a light Chevrolet Truck at the York Motor Show. Obviously imported as it’s a left hooker. It has a ‘3300’ model number, which is a bit different from the ‘1100’ and ‘1500’ numbers of the 3 ton and 5 ton models of those years. The body tells us it was built between 1948 and 1953, but it has a later model ‘blue flame’ engine and a column shift gear lever.
