MASS INTENTIONS
Pope’s Prayer Intentions for Evangelization: December - The Elderly
That the elderly, sustained by families and Christian communities, may apply their wisdom and experience to spreading the faith and forming the new generations.
PRAYER REQUESTS
12-4: "The archangel Gabriel answered [Mary]: 'The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you' (Luke 1:34-35). 12-5: "The family is, so to speak, the domestic church. In it parents should, by their word and example, be the first preachers of the faith to their children; ... (Lumen Gentium, no. 11) 12-6: The generosity of St. Nicholas was often expressed in the giving of gifts. How often do you give gifts to the poor? How do you choose what gifts to give your family and friends? 12-7: "Goodness always tends to spread . . . If we wish to lead a dignified and fulfilling life, we have to reach out to others and seek their good." (Evangelii Gaudium, no. 9) 12-8: In today's Gospel, we hear and reflect on Mary's famous words to the angel Gabriel: "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." (Luke 2:38) 12-9: As Christmas draws nearer, you may be noticing more people in Church than you usually see. How do you welcome back home those who have been away from the Church? 12-10: Pray: Churches around the nation held a special collection for retired religious today. Pray for these dedicated servants of Christ.

Please know that your gifts can translate into innovative housing solutions for the homeless, basic need items such as food, clothing and hygiene supplies, recovery and mental health counseling, and support for veterans, farmworkers, youth, the elderly, and those living with disabilities. Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services serve people of all beliefs and offer more than 175 programs and services over 100,000 people in need each year - and it’s all because of you.
