Where do we see Jesus today? A local artist will lead us through the making of a collage that
shows Jesus acting in our midst today.
What is a collage? A poster using pictures from old magazines, newspapers, books, etc. that show Jesus living out His message to us.

Going Green with eBulletin As of April 11/12, we are going green with our bulletin. Print-ing 300 bulletins per week has now been reduced to 150. Pa-rishioners who want a paper copy may continue to take them after every Mass. If we have your email addresses, you will receive the bulletin as an email attachment each Thursday. This will accomplish two goals : Becoming more environmentally friendly Saving on the cost of paper and printing A few weeks ago, we sent out three parish-wide emails. If you did not receive them, your email address is not on file. If you want to receive ebulletins, please provide us with this infor-mation (name and email address). Give it to the greeter, put it in the collection basket, or email it to Diane DiSanto at [email protected]. If you are not a regular mem-ber of our parish but would like to receive an ebulletin, we are happy to include you. Forms are at each entrance. If you receive the ebulletin and do not want it, please respond to the email and tell us to remove you from the bulletin email list. The ebulletin is being done on a trial basis. Tell us how this is working. We will listen and go from there.

Ministry of Care: Join the Funeral Ministry
Burying the dead is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy. Scripture tells us that Jesus felt such deep compassion for the families of those who had died that he brought the deceased back to life: He called Lazarus out of his tomb (John 11); he raised Jarius's daughter from her death bed (Mark 5); Jesus spoke and the widow's son was restored to her (Luke 7). In the spirit of Jesus, we have a ministry at St. Mary's Church whose purpose is to assist the deceased’s family with preparations for their loved one’s funeral, and to serve the celebrant and those present at the funeral Mass with dignity and respect. Do you have some time to serve in this important minis-try from time to time? There are various roles that you can participate in:
Learning how to host a family interview by meeting with them in person to select readings and music for the funeral, and to listen to stories about their loved one.
Assisting before Mass by preparing the altar, sacristy, and church for the funeral.
Acting as a greeter at the church entrances for funeral direc-tors, family members, and other mourners.
Attending the funeral Mass as a support to the bereaved. Serving as a liturgical minister during the funeral in such roles
as cross bearer, lector, and altar server. Why serve in the funeral ministry? Because Jesus cares for the families of the deceased. Jesus has reserved a place for us in heaven if we believe in him: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” If you are interested in this ministry and would like more information, please contact Jolene Gamache at [email protected].
Holy Hour for Vocations
Please join Bishop Tobin in prayer for vocations to the priest-hood in the Diocese of Providence as he presides at the month-ly Holy Hour for Vocations on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 6:30 PM at St. John Paul II Parish in St. Leo Church, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Let us unite in prayer that many more men will respond to God's call to the priesthood in the Diocese of Providence.
Did You Know This About "Second Collections"? Nearly every Sunday, there is a second collection that, among other things, helps with fuel costs for our church as well as de-fraying the long-term parish debt. We should also be aware that these additional second collections are required by the Diocese to assist various causes: Catholic Communications, Peter's Pence, Priests' Retirement Fund, Semi-narians Collection, Mission Sunday, Retired Religious, Mission Co-Op Sunday, Catholic University, Latin America, Operation Rice Bowl, Holy Land on Good Friday, and the Easter Collection which is the parish gift to the Catholic Charity Appeal aiding the poor and needy in our Diocese. The special Christmas collection remains in the parish. Now you know! Always give generously and sacrificially accord-ing to your means because Jesus calls us to welcome, love, and serve by sharing the blessings He has given us.
Roof Repair to Begin Soon Scaffolding should appear this week on the front wall of the church next to the bell tower. This is in preparation for the repair to the church roof where it meets the tower.
Memorial Mass for Sister Rose Marie Kelly
A Memorial Mass for Sr. Rose Marie Kelly, CND will be celebrated at Church of St. Mary on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Sister Rose Marie who was a beloved teacher in the Providence Catholic School system for 41 years passed away on April 3, 2015; her funeral was in Wilton, CT on April 7.
