Quiet Time “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Prelude All the Saints Adore Thee J. Kerr

Welcome Tom Lacey

Today is a new day, rising fresh from the Creator’s

hand. Today we begin again, with praise and thanks to

God who made us, Christ who redeemed us and the

Holy Spirit who guides us. Here we participate in the

fellowship of the forgiven, the church. It is good to be

together today.

Prayer Requests

Call to Worship

God blesses us in countless ways;

We seek to be blessed and a blessing.

As God’s children, we enjoy never-ending kindness of the Lord;

We bring joy to the Lord when we come to God’s

house.

Our hearts are directed toward what’s good;

God’s name be praised in our hearts and our worship.

* Praise Song (bulletin p. 7) Blessed Be Your Name

Invitation to Confession

As we come here to be in the shelter of God’s love, let us be truthful

about our lives, about our living, and about our limits. Let us offer to

God and each other that truth as we pray, first in silence.

Silent Prayer

Prayer of Confession

Let us pray

Holy God, author of life and source of all hope,

creator, redeemer, sanctifier: hear our prayer.

We know we are sometimes remarkable and generous,

bearing light to the shadows. We know we are

sometimes full of despair and selfishness, hoarding

light and goodness for ourselves.

We invite you on our journeys, O God. We seek your

presence with us in the darkness and the light, in our

4

remarkable moments and our painful ones. Help us to

grow even more into Christ’s likeness, that we will

bear his love and truth to the world. We pray this in

the name of Jesus Christ and in unity with the Holy

Spirit. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness

Hear the Good News: We are forgiven! We are set free to go out into

the world and be the loving, gracious, hopeful people of God!

Alleluia! Amen!

Children’s Time Lynne Holloway

Choral Anthem No Greater Gift R. Schram

Message As Rich as God

* The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven

and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the

Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was

crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the

third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended

into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the

Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge

the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the

holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the

forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and

the life everlasting. Amen.

Offering

Praise God above, ye heavenly host;

Creator, Christ, and Holy Ghost.

Invitation to the Lord’s Table

God be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to God Most High.

It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Communion Prayers and Hymn (WR#136)

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky

and sea;

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty;

God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Lord’s Prayer (Debts/Debtors)

Breaking Bread and Pouring Wine

Agnus Dei

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:

grant us peace.

Call to Supper

Sharing the Elements

Bread in unison. Cup taken individually.

Choral Anthem Bread of Life B. Fisher

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Let us give thanks!

Thank you, merciful God,

for gladness in this bread and cup,

for love that cannot die,

6

for peace the world cannot give,

for joy in the company of friends,

for the splendors of creation,

and for the mission of justice

you have made our own.

Give us the gifts of this holy communion —

oneness of heart, love for neighbors,

forgiveness of enemies,

the will to serve you every day,

and life that never ends.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

* Spirit Song

O let the Son of God enfold you

with his Spirit and his love.

Let him fill your heart and satisfy your soul.

O let him have the things that hold you,

and his Spirit like a dove

will descend upon your life and make you whole.

Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your lambs.

Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your lambs.

* Benediction

Postlude God of Our Fathers J. Kerr

Blessed Be Your Name Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow,

Blessed be Your name.

Blessed be Your name when I’m found in the desert place,

Though I walk through the wilderness,

Blessed be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise.

When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say,

Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord,

Blessed be Your glorious name.

Blessed be Your name when the sun’s shining down on me,

When the world’s all as it should be,

Blessed be Your name.

Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering,

Though there’s pain in the offering,

Blessed be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise.

When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say,

Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord,

Blessed be Your glorious name.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord,

Blessed be Your glorious name.

You give and take away, You give and take away.

My heart will choose to say, Lord, blessed be Your name.

You give and take away, You give and take away.

My heart will choose to say, Lord, blessed be Your name.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord,

Blessed be Your glorious name.
