“My First Makeover”

Client’s lifestyle:

Jamie Gutwein is a 21 year old senior attending Southern Illinois University studying

English. She originally lives in Palatine, IL with her parents and brother and sister.

During her free time, Jamie enjoys reading books as well as baking different types of

sweets. When it comes to describing Jamie’s everyday look, it can be expressed as a very

casual, laid back look. Her closet consists of very basic items such as jeans, t-shirts, and

sweatshirts in solid colors. Instead of going out on the weekends, Jamie enjoys being a

homebody and staying in watching movies. She also likes to keep her makeup simple

with the basics of foundation and mascara. When she has to dress up for a special

occasion or event, she tries to dress within her comfort zone and keep the look casual yet

a little dressier.

Daytime Look:

For Jamie’s daytime look, I selected a basic pair of white skinny jeans and a blue, tiered

ruffled top. I felt the white skinny jeans really showed off Jamie’s shape. I chose the blue

ruffled shirt because the color really complimented her skin tone and since she has a

smaller bust, the ruffles of the top helped give her more of a chest. I accessorized

Jamie’s top and bottoms with a white chunky statement necklace that went well with her

top but did not overwhelm her with the ruffles of her top. I also chose silver floral

sandals that would be comfortable for her since she would be shopping all day. Lastly, I

selected a bright pink satchel handbag to give her outfit a pop of color and give it that

color blocking look, which is very big this upcoming season. While selecting this outfit, I

pictured in my head that Jamie would be wearing this outfit for a lunch date and a

shopping trip with a girlfriend of hers on a beautiful spring day. Overall, I feel as if this

outfit works for Jamie’s comfort zone and it is cute yet has the casual appeal as well.

Evening Look:

For Jamie’s evening look, I decided to chose a form fitting little black dress. This dress

was perfect for her figure and really showed off her thin figure. Also, as you can tell, this

dress had shoulder pads. Normally, shoulder pads can easily be overwhelming on such a

petite figure but I feel as if they were not too much and Jamie easily wore them well. I

chose to accessorize this dress with a pewter colored statement necklace to really dress

up the dress and added graphite colored peep toe pumps. Lastly, I added a pewter box

clutch to match the necklace and her shoes. Her makeup was just like her makeup for

the her daytime look except I added a dark blue eye shadow to give her that smokey eye,

evening look. Overall, I really felt Jamie looked classy and elegant in this black dress and

felt as if she could wear this on a date or even a special red carpet like event or party.
