1 Students will identify and use line, shape, texture and color to draw a seahorse in its environment using mixed media.
1.3- Identify the elements of art in objects in nature, in the environment, and in works of art, emphasizing line, color,shape/form, and texture.
Wax Resist Technique- A wash of color (paint) layered over a design that has been created with a waxy medium (ex.-crayon). The wax ”resists” and repels (pushes away) the paint away. Texture- The way something feels or looks like it might feel.

Students will draw a landscape of a rainy day, using values and multi media to create a reflected image that shows the illusion of space.

4 Students will view paintings as they learn about tints and shades. Students will demonstrate their understanding as they create tints and shades in their own original artwork.

Complementary Colors- Two colors on opposite sides of the color wheel.

they both appear brighter. Hue- Pure Color. The primary and secondary colors (Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Green, Purple) Tint- A mixture of pure color with white. Tone- A mixture of pure color with only Gray. Shade- A mixture of pure color with black
