GETTING READYPassport and Travel DocumentsYou must have a valid passport to enter Mexico and visas may be required for residents of countries other than the US or Canada. Remember, all documentation is your responsibility and no refund is offered should you not be able to travel due to improper documentation. Now is the time to make sure everything is in order!

What to WearClub Atlantis is very informal. Casual resort or sports attire is appropriate all day and night. Everything is somewhat outdoors, so you might bring one long-sleeve shirt and/or pants. There are no formal nights, and you may always dress as you please.

All our parties are very relaxed and casual, however the theme parties may inspire a simple outfit or two. Laundry service is available for an additional charge at the resort.

Packing AdviceBring plenty of sunblock, bug repellent for excursions, and basic toiletries. Beach towels are provided. Cancun is a major tourist area, and it is possible to find virtually anything in town. Finally, please do not place any valuables, including your passport, in your checked luggage.

If you are taking any medications, please make sure you bring them in their original containers to avoid delays getting in and out of the country. Mexican authorities have very strict rules and penalties regarding all drugs.

GETTING THEREArrive Early for Your FlightAs you know, you should arrive at least 2 hours prior to departure of any international flight, including flights with connections from the USA.

Transfers to the ResortIf you purchased transfers from Atlantis, you will be met by a Club Med representative outside of the Customs Area across the driveway. They will be holding a Club Med/Atlantis sign. Please understand that there may be a brief wait for additional passengers.

The resort is approximately 15 minutes from the Cancun airport.

RESORT ESSENTIALSCurrency in MexicoMexican law requires all transactions (over a certain dollar amount) to be handled in pesos, although some establishments may list prices in US dollars as well. Please do not carry large amounts of cash of any type. We recommend exchanging a small amount of cash at the airport and using credit cards for most purchases.

At the time this was published, the exchange rate was about 18.24 pesos to one dollar.

At the resort, telephone and boutique charges can be signed directly to your room. This account may be settled at the end of the week with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Travelers Checks, or cash. Personal checks are not accepted.

The WeatherThe average temperature in Cancun should be around 85° during the day and 72° at night. It’s usually dry during this season, but of course you never know.

The WaterThe water throughout the resort is filtered, purified, and safe to drink. We highly recommend drinking only bottled water outside the resort.

Shuttle ServicesShuttles are available within the resort to take you throughout the property. Please check the shuttle schedule in the Lobby for operating hours.

Transportation to CancunTaxis are readily available from the front desk or concierge at Jade. There is also a public bus service that runs the length of the Cancun strip. It’s cheap but a bit of an adventure.

Phone and InternetThe phones in each room can be used to dial any local or international number. We recommend using a calling card for outbound calls. Otherwise, be prepared for very high service fees.

Be careful if you are using phones in public areas or outside the resort with a credit card. You may be charged extravagant rates and have no recourse with either the hotel or Atlantis. We have seen rates as high as $15 per minute!

Basic wireless internet is included as well, with a free wifi code for up to four devices. Premium internet is an additional fee for the week for up to four devices if you need something faster. There are a few public computers, but we suggest you bring your own laptop or tablet if you really need to get online. Or stay blissfully disconnected!
