Join us for exciting NEW park activities! Come have FUN! May/June 2016 Fourth Annual BioBlitz! Join area scientists on the hunt to identify and count all of the parks wildlife! Come explore and search for birds, trees, wildflowers, insects, and fish. Join us on the hunt for one or more of the parks wildlife. All ages welcome throughout the day; children will enjoy searching for insects the most. FREE – No Registration Required Date: Saturday June 18th Birding: 6:30-7:45am Trees & Wildflowers: 8:00-9:30 am Insects: 9:45-11:30 am Fish: Throughout the day Ranger Walk with FREE Native Seeds Join our Education Ranger for a behind the scenes tour of the park in spring. Learn insider facts, get a tour of our BRAND NEW Dominion Wetland Learning Lab and Kayak Launch, and get up close with our wetland wildlife. FREE – Registration Required, (757) 399-7487, [email protected] Dates: Saturday May 28 (3-4 pm), Saturday June 11 (3-4 pm) Moonlit Journey Experience Paradise under the light of the moon. The nature park is magical after hours. Listen for bats and owls, explore the skies, watch for the wetland’s night-fishing birds, and get a close look at nighttime insects with our light trap. $5 per person – FREE for Elizabeth River Project members Registration Required, (757) 399-7487, [email protected] Dates: Saturday May 21 (7:30-9 pm), Friday June 24 (8-9:30 pm) Ranger Station Stop by our Ranger station located in our brand new Dominion Wetland Learning Lab along the wetland at Paradise Creek Nature Park. NEW - Forestry Stewardship Corps - Great for Scouts, Military, and other Groups!We’ve been busy all winter and spring removing invasive plants and restoring habitat by planting with natives. Help us keep our new seedlings strong by watering, mulching, and weeding the restoration sites. All ages welcome with adult supervision for those under 18.
